BIG BASH 24-25 (Mens and Womens)

The day after the BBL final, a 10-day trade window will open where uncontracted players can be signed by a new club in a mechanism brought in for both the BBL and WBBL this season.

Heading into that period, each team could only have a maximum of 10 players on their list as of the January 19 night deadline. After the trade window, a club can have up to 12 players signed.

There are some big names currently without deals including Mitchell Marsh, Tim David, Matt Renshaw, Chris Lynn, Jason Behrendorff, Beau Webster and Travis Head. Not all off-contract players will be signed during the window, and some will end up staying with their current team when the signing embargo is lifted later in the year, but there will be some significant movement next week. A player can't re-sign with their existing club during the 10-day slot.

A couple of groups of players are not part of the trade window. Overseas players can't be signed - it's worth noting that Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers didn't have a pre-signed player on multi-year deal - although draft picks can be traded, while anyone who came in as a local replacement player this season can't be signed during the window.

Here's a rundown of each club's list as it stands:

Final day. Remains to be seen if I'll be awake for this one which eerily resembles the federal election.

In the lime green corner, the Sydney Albos. Bumbling, blundering, about as confident as a teenager with fresh braces and a brand new prescription for coke bottle glasses, but at least they seem like good blokes.

In the purple, MS Dutton. Both evil and stupid and probably not an actual human being. There might be some decent lads there but f**k me you couldn't tell based on the stink of MS

Blunder in a cripple fight

I'll be at work so I'll be missing the penultimate badonkadonk..
Congrats to both teams for making it to the final powah splooge. My head says Wadey's Canes will be showered in cumfetti, but my heart wishes that for my Thunder lads. I'm just so glad there's no Heat/6ers/Scorchers to be under the spotlight and the medias jizzmop tonight.

Win-win for all cricket lovers today

The one trophy eluding the charismatic and peoples champion Wadey….

In tbe other corner, the bad boy of the Australian cricket team for over a decade in Davey , who has turned full circle and become one of the good guys , the BBL captain of the year (as well as highest run scorer)

I’m going to marvel and be in awe of these two great Australians today..
