We now enter the 4th day of this trade period, with only Behrendorff and Hatcher on the move.

Hopefully business picks up

Just FYI, as squads can have upto 12 players signed, the clubs have the following spots available:

Adelaide Strikers: 3 spots available
Brisbane Heat: 2 spots available
Hobart Hurricanes: 1 spot available (after signing Beau Webster)
Melbourne Renegades: 1 spot available (after signing Behrendorff and Brendon Doggett)
Melbourne Stars: 3 spots available (after signing Liam Hatcher)
Perth Scorchers: 1 spot available (after signing Joel Paris)
Sydney Sixers: 2 spots available
Sydney Thunder: 2 spots available

Clubs can't sign overses or local replacement players (ie Peter Handscombe, Dan Christian etc) to deals.
Draft picks are able to be used in trade deals, as well as currently contracted players.
Existing contracts aren't able to be adjusted during the window.
The trade window shuts on Thursday 6th Feb at 5PM, in which time a BBL team can only have a max of 12 players.

No other contracting activity can happen until March.

My thoughts are the trade window seems a bit pointless, it effectively just gives clubs 10 days where their off contract players can't sign to their current club but if they can unofficially agree to it, and re-sign in March anyway. I also don't understand the logic of local replacement players being excluded from this. IMO they should be viewed as free agents.

Maxwell and Connolly are joint BBL Player of the Tournament

18 votes each, David with 16 votes, then Will Sutherland and Tom Rogers (Renegades) with 14 and 13 respectively.

Still only the 3 moves in the transfer window, and it shuts on Thursday. Stars doing what the Stars do and have picked up the least impressive of the 3 moves. Behrendorff to the Gades, Webster to the Canes, and we get.... Liam Hatcher...again...

According to this

Caleb Jewell is likely going to the Renegades as well
Tim David is expected to re-sign despite interest from the Stars
Peter Hatzoglou won't be offered a contract by Hobart despite being economical and playing in the finals
Hayden Kerr is going to re-sign with the Sixers despite interest from several clubs including the Stars
D'arcy Short is expected to stay at the Strikers
Mitch Marsh is looking like he'll stay at the Scorchers. even though theres been interest from both Melbourne teams.

Away from the field, Stars general manager Blair Crouch has stood down.

Stars pick up Swepson on a 3 year deal.

Trade period now completed.
Very quiet, outside the 2 Melbourne clubs (Renegades with 3 signings, Stars with 2) with Hobart and Perth only adding a single player each. Neither Sydney clubs, the Heat or the Strikers didn't make a single move.
