Next Friday mate, the Sydney smash

Well over 40k

Been to a couple in recent years, crowd is insane
Sad thing, feels like only 500 of those are Thunder supporters 'sniff'

I suppose I'm a thunder man I just don't watch it enough.

Attended plenty of games at the showground when the competition had more talent. Eoin Morgan hit a last ball 6 to win. Watched Cummins return after stress fractures and plenty of Watto magic.

I have never watched a t20 at the SCG.

Big Bash is good midweek work for cricket nuffies IMO.

Manuka games are good. Log off at 4pm, flex time, hit the pub, trundle out to the ground at like 6:30 and usuallu home in time to start by 8 easy enough the next day anyway

Those were the days where Thunder had some quality.

I have a mate (sixers and bulldogs fan lol) we try get to this SCG smash every year. Have tix for this year.
Atmosphere is like nothing else, mainly cause sixers pummel us all the time lol.

If you ever get a chance go to this derby at the SCG one year, and also SCG test is good , especially v india or poms

Sixers have always had the bulk of the NSW talent (and Aussie too, when it’s available Starc, Haze, Lyon, Smith). Thunder had Uzi and Cummins. Thunder have unearthed talent but once they get to NSW level (or realise the Thunder are just shit), they move to Sixers or interstate. Thunder blooded Abbott, Daniel Hughes, Zampa… The only ones we’ve managed to really keep is Green and Sams. Maybe McAndrew. Never gave Solway a crack which was criminal, and he worked for CNSW as a West Sydney area manager.

Warner took 12 years between appearances. They’ve bought shit or overpriced but under performing imports. Half our games are in Canberra ffs.
The year they won it the stars aligned.

It's alright.

It just lacks something that ODI and test cricket has. The batsman doesn't really build an innings. The bowler doesn't really work over the batsman. It's all turbo time.

I remember a t20 between Pakistan and Australia. We got a free hit off a no ball. Haddin on strike. He backed away and got bowled and we ran a single...it epitomises the format for me.

I'll have to do it sometime. Homebush is close but it's not a patch on the SCG.

Jordan Silk is one special fielder. Even his drops are highlight worthy.

As a bat he seems to get a lot of starts in shield but doesn't kick on.

He it's definitely not real cricket. But it's nice to watch on a Wednesday after work (or a stormy Saturday after we got belted ourselves and I did a knee...)

Ashton Tuner has to be one of the more disappointing cricketers of the last 5 years or so. He's a super talented white ball cricketer but he just regressed after taking the next step rather than kicking on

These two teams and the same kits, how hard is it to make them look different

Why cant one of them put on the darker kit (more black) and the other more blue around the shoulders

Moises would have been the all rounder we always wanted if he wasn't made of glass as a young un
To me we suck at developing and using allrounders. We will get a genuine allrounder who would average 44 with the bat and 35 with the ball and decide their bowling isn’t good enough and make them a batsman. Wouldn’t be shocked if Green becomes a specialist bat in about 4-5 years.
