Unlikely to happen but
the Scorchers are still a mathematical chance of playing finals despite a fourth straight loss to the Thunder on Monday night. That said, they'll need a string of results to go their way. Firstly, they'll need the Hurricanes to beat the Renegades, Heat and Stars in their last three matches, and the Sixers to beat the Strikers on Wednesday. They then need the Renegades to narrowly beat the Heat at Marvel Stadium on Saturday so they don't get too far ahead on net run-rate. The Scorchers then need to beat the Strikers and by enough to jump the 'Gades NRR as both sides would be on eight points... simple!
