Just saw the BBL final will be on at 4:30pm AEDT.
Absolutely poor scheduling and another example of tv networks screwing over a sports tournament (as well as their own tv ratings as it would've got more in primetime, like it has since the BBL's inception) just so they can show some B/C/D-grade show like I'm a Celebrity Get me out of here.
It won't look too bad if Adelaide/Hobart end up hosting it, but if Perth does (which there's more than 50% chance of happening), it will look ridiculous having an early 1:30pm final during the heat of the day, which will definitely impact the crowd numbers at the 60k seat Optus Stadium. It was bad enough playing a match at Alice Springs at 2:40pm (which should've been an evening/night match), but the final deserved much more than this garbage.
Likewise, having the WBBL final potentially starting at 9am (if Perth hosts it) is also a joke, since most people have barely got out of bed that time on a Sunday morning, and is completely unfair on the WBBL teams that have worked very hard to make it to the big stage, only to play infront of no one other than family members and the absolute diehards of womens cricket. WBBL final could've got a decent crowd had the BBL final been in primetime (7pm AEDT start) and the womens match at about 3-3:30pm AEDT start
