they have confirmed a home semi final despite the result of this game

They will be without Carey next game

probably giving Dean an option to secure the spot?

Just seems odd because I don't reckon he's even done it in grade cricket

Just saw the BBL final will be on at 4:30pm AEDT.

Absolutely poor scheduling and another example of tv networks screwing over a sports tournament (as well as their own tv ratings as it would've got more in primetime, like it has since the BBL's inception) just so they can show some B/C/D-grade show like I'm a Celebrity Get me out of here.

It won't look too bad if Adelaide/Hobart end up hosting it, but if Perth does (which there's more than 50% chance of happening), it will look ridiculous having an early 1:30pm final during the heat of the day, which will definitely impact the crowd numbers at the 60k seat Optus Stadium. It was bad enough playing a match at Alice Springs at 2:40pm (which should've been an evening/night match), but the final deserved much more than this garbage.

Likewise, having the WBBL final potentially starting at 9am (if Perth hosts it) is also a joke, since most people have barely got out of bed that time on a Sunday morning, and is completely unfair on the WBBL teams that have worked very hard to make it to the big stage, only to play infront of no one other than family members and the absolute diehards of womens cricket. WBBL final could've got a decent crowd had the BBL final been in primetime (7pm AEDT start) and the womens match at about 3-3:30pm AEDT start

the game on now started at 4:30pm and a few others from Perth have too

have not seen anywhere that the final is starting at that time no matter who hosts it

Yes, I'm aware most of Perth's home matches have been at 4/4:30pm, with the occasional one at 6:20pm (when it has been the 2nd match of a double header).

However, Ch10 (around the 8th over) showed an on-screen graphic confirming WBBL final was at 12pm AEDT and BBL final at 4:30pm, and the commentators also mentioned the possibility of a 9am WBBL final in Perth, which would mean that the finals are at those AEDT times regardless, rather than 12/4:30pm wherever it is hosted at.

CA site says TBC as the start time on their site

Tests start earlier than that anyway so a T20 game is less toll on the body than that

These umpires are so shit and have been all tournament. Missing wides a foot over the batsman’s head, missing plumb lbw’s, giving clearly missing lbw’s. I think they just guess half the time.

if that's what it's up against then it makes perfect sense otherwise it would be ratings suicide by Ten who get f**k all viewers as it is
