I don't know what you watched but there's being a few beatings but some close finishes too. Last night was looking like a walloping last night but ended in a 6 run loss.

Some. But in past seasons, especially last season, nearly every game was close. This year this difference in squads has had a massive role.

This season has seen a lack of quality imports / big names.

But this summer has plenty of international cricket going on too which is probably why there aren't as many Kiwis, Windies or Saffas over here.

Yeah I dunno. Most games have seemed pretty much game, set, match halfway through the second innings. Any games have also been all over at the conclusion of the first innings.
Just not a high enough standard of players this year.

My memory of BBL06 was that any team could win it. This year only a few teams are even close to being in contention.

As you said in your other reply the ports are just not good enough. Roy and Billings for the Sixers are disgraceful. Something needs to be done to improve teams ability to sign internationals.
