Crowds dont determine which is the "better" sport.
of course they do.
if a sport is dull and boring most people wont go, they find something else to do.
over the decades rleague has always had relatively small crowds compared to other footy codes and the only conclusion to be drawn is that rleague is the most inferior type of footy invented.
look at all the other codes;
afl.....tremendous crowds over the years
union.....huge crowds for tests and now S14
soccer.....what can i say
gridiron.....they get 94,000 just to a college game
gaelic....huge
our sport has consistently been the worst attended code over it's liftime, in fact it's crowds have been attrocious at times......except for a brief period in the 50's in england when there was nothing else to do and everyone was still broke after the war.
we must not keep our heads in the sand, it's time to face facts......rleague is a crap spectator sport......and that's all that really matters.
let's not forget this sport was invented by knuckle heads from the north of england which has never been accused of being a breeding ground for rocket scientists.......those dummies got it oh so wrong 110 years ago when they modified union......they got rid of all the interesting bits, the variety and the skill and all were left with is a monotonous, repetitive, low skill sport.
rleague just doesn't cut the mustard in the sophisticated 21st century world.
