A raw spoiler from this week:

Matt Hardy returned to WWE on RAW last night. In what appears to be a worked-shoot style storyline, Hardy "ran-in" on Edge backstage and attacked him before being restrained by security.

Then again during the main-event, Hardy hit the ring and attacked Edge. Again the two were seperated by security, who hit the ring like it wasn't planned. Hardy got a microphone and said he'd make "Adam's" (Edge) life a living hell, and Lita's as well. He then said he hates the WWE before security again tackled him down and police "arrested" him.

Matt Hardy was carried about screaming, "I hate the WWE, I hate the WWE!"

His exact words:

Here is what Matt Hardy said on RAW:

"Adam, you bastard, I am going to make your life miserable. And Lita, you whore, I'm going to make your life miserable too. And the WWE can kiss my ass!"

(Hardy is tackled by security and a referee)

"I'll see you at Ring Of Honor. ROH!"

Matt was then tackled and handcuffed by cops.

For the record, Matt is still scheduled for Ring of Honor this weekend and will wrestle Christopher Daniels.

RAW opens with a quick recap of Shawn Michael’s and
Hogan’s tag match and the subsequent “sweet chin
music”.

The show starts with Carlito entering the ring with
his IC title over his shoulder for Carlito’s Cabana.
Though it’s worth mentioning he’s in his wrestling
gear with a shirt over the top. He pushes RAW and his
match with Shelton Benjamin. He talks about Hogan
being on the Cabana last week and introduces HBK, but
Y2J’s music hits and Jericho enters the ring.
Y2J chants quietly fill the arena. Carlito and
Jericho banter back and forth about their competing
mini-talk shows. Jericho tries to take over and turn
it into the Highlight Reel. Carlito stops it fm
happening and tells Jericho he’s old and fat. “Love
handles, that’s not cool.” Jericho responds saying
he’s cool - he’s Canadian. And calls Carlito “Side
Show Bob”. Jericho again talks down Carlito’s show
and tries to take over again, and calls himself the
Johnny Carson of RAW. Y2J announces HBK and Rowdy
Roddy Piper’s music plays and Piper comes down the
ramp. Piper rips apart both shows and says his show
is the original as he flicked his sporran (the
tasseled piece on the front of his kilt - known to be
quite the Scottish insult). Piper says he’s the one
who will be interviewing HBK. He will have the
answers to all the questions because Michaels will be
in Piper’s Pit.

Quick recap of Cena doing a signing in Japan.

Chris Masters music plays as we come back from
commercial. Looks like he’s wrestling in an actual
match. A quick recap of Tajiri green misting Masters
two weeks previous. And of course the match is
against Tajiri.
Masters takes a quick lead with lots of punches and
hits, but Tajiri comes back with his amazing feet.
ECW chants erupt and Tajiri keeps control. Tajiri
gets a few near falls on Masters but missed the
tarantula and gets overpowered and stuck in the
Masterlock. The match is ended by the ref when Tajiri
is unresponsive in Master’s signature hold.

Flash to the back showing HBK entering the arena and
pouring coffee.

Back from commercial and Coach is talking about how
Kane will be joining many stars at the San Diego Comic
Convention.

Edge, Lita and Snitsky are backstage watching the
wedding video from a few weeks previous. They talk
about Kane and how Edge has a match tonight with Kane
and how Snitsky has a foot fetish. Edge offers Lita’s
feet for help in his match with Kane. Snitsky almost
licks Lita’s feet but Edge stops him saying he won’t
get paid until he does the work.

JR declares parental discretion before they show the
end of the Hell In The Cell match between HHH and
Batista. They showed HHH being led bloody from the
Cell.

Return from commercial to the Slam of The Week.
Shelton hitting the turnbuckle by Carlito when Shelton
lost his IC title.
Carlito is in the ring and Benjamin soon follows.
Benjamin gets the early lead with a series of punches
and knees into a quick cover that amounts to nothing.
Carlito chops Benjamin which only eggs him on for
another two near falls. Carlito nails a standing
dropkick and Benjamin bounces back up to beat on
Carlito some more. A baseball slide sends Carlito to
the outside and the show to another commercial.
We return to find Benjamin in a sleeper hold. He
fights out, but Carlito keeps control of the match.
Fighting goes to the outside and Benjamin gets thrown
into the barrier. Back in the ring Carlito stops
Benjamin. The follows up with a couple of hard
elbows, but is unable to get the three count. Carlito
keeps control and keeps trying choke type holds, but
is unable to get a three. A DDT almost finishes
Benjamin. But Benjamin is able to get off a modified
neck breaker and the tides turn. Carlito tries to
hold the tights for a three count - but is unable to
finish it. Though Carlito does keep control until he
gets a spinning heel kick that knocks him off the
apron. Carlito picks up the belt and walks away at
the 8 count. He gets DQ’d, but retains his title.

Outback shows Cena and Bischoff arguing at a
distance. Then Cena storms off. Commercial.

WWE Rewind shows us last weeks Highlight Reel and the
fight between Cena and Y2J.

Cena’s music plays and he enters the ring as the
crowd goes wild. Cena does his regular shtick to get
the crowd pumped. He says he’s having a bad day due
to Bischoff calling him a disgrace and Jericho saying
he kicked Cena’s ass last week. Cena keeps calling
him Y2Cheap. Cena calls out Jericho, but Bischoff’s
music hits. The GM enters the ring looking rather
pissed. Bischoff gets a$$hole chants from the crowd.
Bisch tells Cena he defends the title when he says,
not when Cena wants to. Because Cena didn’t kiss his
a$$ from the beginning - Bischoff is going to give him
a hard time. Cena won’t take his crap. Then Y2J’s
music hits, but Bischoff stops Chris before he comes
down the ramp. Bischoff calls Cena a thug and gets
cut off for his words. Bischoff announces a title
match at SummerSlam between Cena and Y2J - mixed
response from the audience. Jericho kisses Bischoff’s
butt then tells Cena he’s going to take his title and
calls him a disgrace. Jericho continues to cut down
Cena and tooting his own horn. Cena cuts another
“Cheap” promo on Jericho. Cena again calls out
Jericho. Jericho takes off his jacket, but doesn’t
enter the ring. He predicts he’s going to win at
SummerSlam. They then stare each other down. Then
Cena turns back on Bischoff and rips him a new one.
Cena goes after Bisch and gives him the FU.

Shows the back and the Diva hopefuls heading for the
front. Commercial.

The Diva hopefuls enter the ring. One is being sent
home. Alexis was cut and the crowd sounded unhappy
about it.
He rest of the girls show their talents. Ashley does
wrestling moves on Christy, then hugs her. Leyla
dances for Earl Hebner who threw the towel over her
naked boobies last week - she gives him a crotch shot
for the DQ. Summer does a tumbling routine with a
splits and dancing. Kristal covers herself in paint
and does a self portrait. Elisabeth dances in her cop
outfit and Sherpa boots. She handcuffs Christy to the
ropes and gropes her. Simona pulls her sword and
dances suggestively with Coach (lots of boos).
Cameron dances and strips for Christy on a chair. She
kisses Christy on the cheek. He girls gyrate a little
more then commercial.

Kirt Angle’s music is playing as the show returns.
Angle enters the ring with a couple of cops holding
his gold medal. Guess they are still doing the Angle
Invitational. The local hero comes into the ring
cautiously. His name is Matt Martel. Angle called
him on it and said his name is really Striker, a
teacher who called in sick to wrestle. Angle wrestled
him in Philly when he said he was from Philly. Angle
beat him down, at first. Then Striker took over and
beat on Angle. Angle got tossed on the outside and
took a while to get back in. When the ref had his
back turned Striker got Angle with a crotch shot.
Angle finally got the ankle lock on and made Striker
tap out with one second remaining.

Grisham approached Kane in the back asking him his
thoughts on the match tonight. Kane just laughed and
laughed. Then we saw Edge getting attacked by Matt
Hardy in the back. Then Hardy ran out. It was all
very quick. Does this mean Hardy’s back? Commercial.

Edge’s music hits as the show returns. He enters
with Lita. Kane then enters staring through the pair.
Kane takes control right off. But then Edge takes
over. The fight goes back and forth. Kane drops Edge
and goes after Lita. Snitsky gets involved and caused
the DQ. Kane and Snitsky fight into the crowd. Edge
is standing in the ring and gets attacked by Matt
Hardy. Security breaks them up and Matt gets out of
the ring. Matt grabs a mic and calls Lita a whore and
tells off Edge and tells WWE to kiss his ass. The
police then arrest Matt and take him out. This does
not look like it was planned, at all. But this is the
WWE, so you never know. Commercial.

Recap of last week Hogan and HBK to set up for
Piper’s Pit. Piper’s music hits and he enters the
ring. Commercial.

Piper immediately introduces HBK who enters the ring
wearing all white. The crowd boos him heartily. HBK
talks about how much heart he’s put into wrestling and
how he’s done so much to shape wrestling. HBK decided
a the Hall of Fame ceremony when everyone wanted one
more match for Hogan - HBK wanted it to be with him.
He doesn’t see Hogan as wonderful as the rest of the
world does. He challenges Hogan to a match at
SummerSlam. He wants to show that immortality has a
price. Piper takes HBK down a notch verbally saying
the fans made HBK, not the other way around. Piper
chokes up telling HBK he was worth it, but is now
ashamed of him. He calls HBK a coward and gets “sweet
chin music” for his troubles. HBK stares for a
moment, then leaves the ring the way he did last week
with Hogan. The a$$hole chants were so clear the
network cut the sound for a few moments. Then Shawn
left the ring and walks up the ramp.

sh*t yeah, what a great segment. I half expected it, so I wasn't as surprised as a casual viewer would have been. The best bit for me was the way he called him 'Adam', making it feel shoot. Also, WWE not showing his face for a while there had me a little confused as to whether it would be him or another swerve

Also, guys, was that indy wrestler Matt Stryker that Kurt wrestled? Or just someone with the same name?

When on earth is Carlito going to get a chance to atleast dominate someone, last week they had him jobbing to Hogan which was pathetic(Seriously Hogan go away), and this week Shelton Benjamin a guy who although is young just doesnt connect with the audience the way Carlito does, and made him escape. This is abit like The Rock's IC reign before he became a main eventer, except Carlito gets beaten to a pulp, than comes away with a heel like victory. The way Carlito is being used.. Das not cool.

Carlito is being given a Honky Tonk Man Style heel push. The job of a good heel is to get beaten down and still come away winning. The Carlito Face turn will come in time and the more he gets beaten down and dominated (but still manages to maintain his title), the bigger reaction the eventual turn will get. I believe the turn will come in a feud with Jericho in a couple of weeks, but must admit I wouldnt be disappointed if they drew it out indefinitely. Raw really is improving enormously lately and that was one of the best shows they have put on, with the Piper guest appearance and to a lesser extent the Matt Hardy appearance awesome surprises we havent seen for a while. HBK v Hogan looks like it will be a great feud, Cena v Jericho isnt too bad, and even Chris Masters is starting to grow on me a bit.

It wouldn't bother me (the Masters push) if he was actually a decent wrestler. He got carried tonight by Tajiri, and then just finished it off with the stupid Master Lock. Jesus, give him a sharpshooter or something!

The masters lock is a solid wrestling manoevre used in the tradition of the great Billy Jack Haynes amongst others. You cant have everyone doing the same moves. Masters is nothing special, but like i said he is growing on me a bit. (i no longer hate him) He has a long proven gimmick thta has been tried many times - Lex Luger, Shawn Stasiak, etc and never really works. still, I find the master lock challenge far less boring than it used to be. Tajiri probably deserved to be the one to break the challenge but now it looks like he wont. I am not sure who will eventually break it, Maybe a big name like Hogan, Cena, Kane etc or maybe they will use it as a chance to put a younger guy over either way, the gimmick is reasonable for a lower card wrestler.
