It appears that Ray Hadley has revealed on his news program that Michael Vella may well be battling cancer. This has not yet been confirmed but we will know more at the press conference it appears.

OK.....you've all had your fun not really knowing what the Big story is going to be! Now we have an idea I think it's time to stop arguing and making fun and start to think of a guy who if it is true (and I'm not doubting it is) has a deadly disease and his footy career is more than likely over....whether you like the club or not!

i started the thread initally, i had NFI as to what the EXACT news was, but i knew there was news out of the camp.

Anyway, like him or not, you dont want to see anyone struck down with cancer.

Lets hope it is a condition he can beat and live a long and happy life, that is more important then a game of footy anyday.

In this case I think you will find it will be 100% true. There is NO WAY he would announce something like that over radio without it being true.

I just hope it is removable and treatable. But it is not a pleasant thing and I wish him well.

Talk about jumping the gun! No-one even knows what type of cancer he has. Lets hope it is a highly cureable cancer and he is hardly out of the game at all.

2GB have just announced that he has thyroid cancer and was operated on earlier in the week.
