I guess adam mogg would now be on the shortlist - at about 190cm tall and 100kgs.
who else would be on the list?
joey johns after being injured?
maybe greg eastwood filled in there for the broncos?
any takers?

owen craigie was a champ.
That sounds f**ked up tho, why doesnt herbert play hooker? Or if herbert plays half, mogg to hooker. why f**k everything up?
Was this quoted from a coach or just a journo?

Did you see Jono Ford playing halfback for Cook Islands in the Pacific Cup.
Jono is now playing 5/8 for Newtown.
He is 197cm and over 100kg - looks a bit like Dane Tilse.

I can see Herbert going well out of hooker, his passing game has always been good, has a decent boot, just needs to pick the right options.

i say bring young matt smith in from south logans or promote little mick picker, before placing moggy in the halves

In answer to the original question,

I think that Big Mal Meninga might be the answer. I can recall towards the end of his career that he was selected as a defensive halfback, whenever the Raiders didnt have the feed. He would then tackle the smaller halfback as soon as he got the ball.

From memory, the NRL or ARL (whichever it was) then outlawed the tactics as being contrary to the spirit of the game.

Matt Smith doesnt play for SL anymore , I think Norths now.
But I would sign him up to the Green Machine. His form has been good apparently in the QLD cup
