Biggest TURNCOATS

Brisbane, Penrith, NQ, Auckland, Canberra, Canterbury, Cronulla, Western Reds -------- Super League/Rupert and Ribot

You could probably leave teams like the Reds, Mariners and Rams out of that because they were never part of the ARL so they didn't actually do much wrong. Brisbane and Canberra are the worst of the lot, if they didn't go Super League would never have happened. Cronulla and Penrith were struggling financially and their reasons are probably slightly more acceptable (though they were no worse off than some of the other Sydney clubs that stayed loyal).
The Reds were part of that sh*t, and it's justice that they were punted after the years the ARL and Sydney clubs put into growing the game over there. And ever since these twats have been blaming the ARL and Sydney clubs.

Penrith were not struggling financially. They had not long ago won the comp and Panthers Leagues was the biggest casino on the planet with a massive turnover

Didn't the Cowboys sign with $uperleague only 5 weeks after making their debut in the comp? I think I remember Kerry Boustead resigning from the club in disgust.
Yes, same as Auckland and Perth.

yeah, along with the Western reds and Auckland.....................

If we didn't sign with news, I doubt there would still be a team up here. We were in massive financial dires and they bailed us out. These dire times was not through a lack of fans (we were averaging about 20k over our first 3 years) but due to complete mismanagement. When Boustead quit, the club instated Rabieh Krahyem to the CEO position, he was running the leagues club up here when it was up top of the western stand. He moved from Cronulla as he had run that leagues club into the ground and pretty much sent it bankrupt and did likewise to the entire Cowboys football club whilst in charge. I know for a fact the end of year balls they were holding out at the stadium for the players and staff were around the $100k mark, a real good way to run a club........... When we signed with SL all the cash we got from them went into the stadium (those stands on top of the northern and southern hills), moving the change rooms from old disused stables to underneath the western stand and sealing of the carparks.

If we stayed in the ARL we would have been culled or died naturally for sure, thank christ we are still here and whilst we all have a fair bit of despise for New$, I think what they did by saving us was pretty noble (though no team up here means they sell no papers so I guess it is in there own benefit to keep us going). I think NQ brings a lot to the comp and it would be all the poorer without us.
You only got Rabbie Crayon because Bowie resigned. You stay loyal, and Bowie doesnt resign, and you dont get Rabbie and lose all that $. Simple.

Mat Rogers.

Your old man bleeds for the Sky Blue and you pledge your allegiance to the Maroon scum of the north. Lovely.
......before putting the icing on the cake with a code switch and a tail-between-legs return. champagne stuff.

Also promised his dying mother he wouldn't play against the sharks.

GI has to be the biggest though. He even spent more time in melb then QLD yet calls himself a QLDer.

I'll probably get roasted for this but Wayne Bennett.

Former coach of Australia becomes coaching assistant for New Zealand. What the hell?

Agree. Heavily involved in Super League as well. Heavily involved in shafting Chris Anderson before leasing Australia to loss in the Tri nations. Dumped St George for the $ as well.

No one has mentioned Judas yet. Jamie Lyon.

Ben Ikin as well.

And every Super League player. Funny how no one has tried to mount the usual defence - where is Green machine with his "poor Rupert" waffle?

Reds were there. They were a huge boost for the game when they joined would probably be a force now if they'd stayed loyal.

You forgot the bulldogs 60 years in the comp and cut and run with the rest, they along with Brisbane and Canberra are the worst.

Scott Prince.

All the time and effort in the world was placed into his development, moving him to Tvl from Mt Isa, given 2 years of first grade and touted as our potential next captain and he goes and signs for Brisbane.......... will never forgive him for what he did. This was a time we needed leaders amongst the group to stand up and show the way but he scooted off like a bitch to a shoe shop.

Wins a title and leaves as well. He is scum.

I seem to remember Rogers was forced to play for the Maroons even though he wanted to play for the Blues, because he played his first senior footy on the Gold Coast.

You gotta remember that origin rules were bent in favour of Qld for rules to keep them competitve.

Could be worse. Could have M Pearce. Loses a title and stays.

True. In ways I thank him for playing a big role in the premiership. But the way he left, and the way we sucked with John Morris, leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. His last year at the Tigers, I never felt he tried until it was over.
