Has Slater ever done this to the greatest halfback ever?

I think not

I have a pretty big Lockyer at fullback bias, because he was my first favourite league player when he was at that position. I do think Slater may have usurped him as the best I've seen and possibly best ever

As much as I hate him ....he is the best fullback I've seen although I can only go back to around 1980 ....

Any elite player who can put in a 80%+ game every time he plays has to be applauded.

I can't say he's the best ever, but he is certainly one of the best at the moment and deserves to be considered one of the best in his era.

I don't get the hate tbh, he is the best I have seen.

If all players put the effort he puts into the game we would have grand final quality games each week!

He's a great fullback no doubt, having Rep playmakers in his team his whole career helps a long way. Could he carry a team through a season without Cameron Smith and Cronk?

I think for pure overall ability hayne has him covered and as a running fullback the cross-eyed f**kwit from manly is better but slater is (thanks in part to always being in teams with gun players around him) easily the most consistent of the three over the course of each's career. Even though in 2009 hayne was almost unstoppable I don't think too many would trade that freakish year to see hayne play at 85% of that almost every week, which is what slater does.

He's the best fullback I've seen by a fair margin. Would be interesting to see how he and Hayne would go if they swapped sides for a season though.

Best fullback I've seen however I was born in 86.

I think Hayne had/has the potential to do some things Billy can't do. However Slater is just way too constantly good. Does some magical stuff.

With all the great players around their GF winning squads would you say the same about Fulton, Beetson, Langlands, Raper, Gasnier, Churchill, Sterling, Kenny,.....?????
