Heard the news on 7 it was after a nighclub incident in Manchester.

Wait, wasnt there another incident before the tournament kicked off.

I think you'll find I wrote with a large dollop of sarcasm.

In fact, if you look at the time of the posts, it was before ANYTHING had been written/confirmed in the press, so pretty much taking the p!ss by me.

And since I don't believe Billy Slater has ever done anything bad off the field, I found it amazing he'd be arrested for anything. Wasn't getting off on it at all.

The only match Australia needed to turn up for was the first match! Every other match before the final they can win drunk anyway. They deserve an off season!

Pretty much, that is reality. It is STILL a World Cup best of 3 nations anyway. Australia only needed to win the first game, then they have 4 weeks off before the final. This is an older side, they need the rest.

I heard it was a fight outside a nightclub and he stepped in to stop it and got a slap for his troubles. Unless it was a mate (which I doubt as we would of heard about it) you really don't want to be doing that.

The police did what they do and sweep everyone up. A quick CCTV check later and of you go. Nothing to see here.

Funny thing is there is a good chance no one knew who he was, just another back packer or tourist in the town to see the football.


Papali was a totally different case and probably didn't realise he was been robbed until the thieves had legged it.

Manchester will need to invest in an advertising campaign in Aus though. "Come to Manchester, we will rob you, slap you, arrest you and it will be f*cking raining" should have the punters flocking here.


Oh yeah, he is also a protected species and Ryles should clearly be banned from the country... ;-)
