Billy Slater

I don't blame slater for punching the dude, would have been a grave injustice if he didn't, but really he shouldn't have been there at that time. You're only out at the early hours of the morning looking for 1 of 2 things - sex or a fight. Trouble. And when you're looking for trouble, you often find it. As he did.

I dont like Bill at the best of times, but he acted fairly here. If someone pushed you in the face the deserve a repercussion.
But how bout the chick who cops it sweet when Slater punches the guy. Reverse head butt.

Look, I hope Slater suffers a career ending injury everytime he takes the field just like any other normal human being...but he's clearly within his rights here. Complete beat up.

I always just decide to have a beer at 2.30am........

Then again, with a missus like that, I'd be out too. As someone already alluded to, I wonder if she has had a similar conversation with Mrs Skandalis?

Dickhead.

It's not as if he is "Always" out at 2:30 am

Having now seen the vid I would love the police to release a statement to say how they reached a decision that it was self defence.

No way was it self defence, he stepped up to some little dudes face who shoved him ok so far. Billy then counted to three before he lamped him.

If any of us did that on a night out we would be charged.

Completely deserved it, could see Billy was trying to reason with him before the man punched him and Slater's punch was absolutely justified in the eyes of the law. Also being off official Kangaroo duty he can do what the f**k he likes and be at a bar at 2.30 am, you sad sack merkins are either taking the piss or lived in bubble all your life.

So first u say it's dickish behaviour whether he started it or not. Now u say u don't blame him for punching him back. So which is it now? Or u gonna change ur mind completely again?

Also I will admit that a lot of ppl out at that time are looking for sex, not so sure about everyone looking for a fight. But that doesn't mean everyone on the planet falls into this category. Kind of a stupid statement to tar everyone with that same brush. Also, no matter how much u dislike him, the guy is not full genius, how the hell does he think he could get away with either of those things, given his profile?

Serves that wanker who hit Slater right.

The last thing you want is for some idiot to whack you in the side of the head when you're not looking.

Well done Billy!!!

Seriously when will they learn.
Billy you say you were worried about your family, i bet you weren't while you were out till 3am.

He should at least be stood down from this weeks game, doesn't really set a good example for the team.

Why should he be stood down? Him and a group of teammates went out for a few drinks and didn't cause any trouble. They left quietly but Billy forgot his jacket. He went back to get it and some drunk wanker thought he was trying to cut in line and pushed him in the head. Billy punches the guy to defend himself as he is well in his rights to do to defend himself as for all he knows the drunk guy is going to start throwing punches at him.

At what point did Billy do something wrong?

So if this happened at 8pm Billy would be okay to return serve? The time doesn't matter, you don't go punching people in the face just because you think they cut in line.

By staying out till 3am for starters, he is supposed to be a senior player.
If he said by 12 lets call it a night or go back to hotel room nothing would have ever happened.

There is no need for him or any of them to be out till 3am in the morning, it just asks for trouble.

On ya Billy, Hope Maloney was watching!

If he wants to be out at 2:30AM; good on him.
If he retaliates to punch in the face; good on him.

At least he didn't get charged; we may still have some form of liberal democracy left as opposed to the trolls & self righteous socialists begging for state sponsored micro management of everyone's (i.e. others) behaviour.

If he got there 5 minutes earlier or later nothing would have happened because I doubt that guy would be at the front of the line. He did nothing wrong and it was unofrtunate timing that this one person who got agitated was at the front of the line when he returned to get his jacket. There has been no indication that Billy was drunk or acting inappropriately before or after the incident and he co-operated fully with the police.

So if this happened at 12 you'd be fine with this?
