BJRL! Has it improved this season?

At the start of this season the QRL asked the clubs in the Brisbane Junior Rugby League to agree to some changes which were going to result in the BJRL being run better with more input from the QRL.

As part of this a new CEO was appointed with a salary package of about $50,000.

Well from what i have seen it is even worse and it seems that all the changes are just going to costs the junior league player mor ein the long run.

The QRL are picking up the bill for the 1st season but after that the money will have to be payed by the junior clubs who will have to pass this costs on to the players.

Does anyone else think the BJRL has got worse or has it improved?

They seem not to be able to get a draw out until 1 to 2 weeks before hand.

And they have said at one point that there can be no chnages to game times. But the usually clubs get to like redcliffe, redlands, st brendans and all the other BIG clubs.

I think some major changes are needed in the BJRL and have not made any progress with the new administaration.

I haven't heard one good word about the new set up, other than it saw the end of a few blokes who were past their use by dates. And I've spoken to officials (presidents, secretaries etc) of at least a dozen clubs personally .... is that a fair analogy to draw yet, or not, I'm not sure .... :|

What about the website that was kept pretty much up to date and actually was informative, unlike the old one.

That was a big improvement for a start.

Well I regularly checked on Mondays and Tuesdays for results and they weren't updated by then. And surely there's more news around the junior clubs than the 3 or 4 stories they posted in 2004 .... :?

Well Wests juniors had an article on there a couple of days after they opened the new facilities at Purtell park #2. Even featured a mantion of the mighty Brisbane irish Rugby Football Club who helped build them.

from my dealings with the SEDJ(new name) it still has a long way to go but it is a definite improvement from the BJRL old boys club. got to look ahead not live in the past.
