Blackest day in our eight years of existance?

Well,

I am devastated, what a debacle.

Well at least a certain someone can't blame Fitzy!

However I must agree with a certain someone when I say, we need a halfback, we need a big bopper or two , we haven't bent a team back all year.

We need a quality centre to replace Phatz.

However I have not heard our doorbell ring once.

Concerning to say the least.

We made Carmont look like the best centre in the world tonight.

Usually I'll be upset after a loss like that, but I'm just pissed off! How could those useless bastards put themselves in a position to lose that game, with EVERYTHING to play for?!

And next year isn't looking any better...

conceding 14 points in 6 minutes, with thir season on the line

is it a case of choking or just being outplayed by superior (wooden spoon contender) opponents.

i thought if Kirk Reynoldson magically got called into 1st grade the Knights could fire up, but he wasnt so................what happened?

Disappointed would be an understatement. Shades of '04. One big win at the back end of the season followed by a string of losses to take us out of contention. How many of the last 8 games did we win? 2? I'm not even going to bother looking at it. It has been pathetic.

Marshall found some form in attack, which was great to see, but he was exposed in defence and this cost us. Here's hoping that certain rumours in another thread are not completely unfounded (in terms of him being rushed back) and that we will see him defending closer in after a good off-season and further recovery.

Gibbs gave away those two stupid penalties - what the f*ck was that all about?

As for Morris, well f*ck me if after all my calls for calm on the subject if he didn't just cost us the season...

Well, in fairness he didn't do it all on his own because they never should have been in that position anyway, but to get caught offisde within easy kicking distance like that is all but unforgiveable.

At least in '06 we knew well in advance of round 26 that we weren't going to play finals football... Finding out at the eleventh hour like last night sucked, but what sucks even more is that now the only team worth cheering for in the finals is Souths. The cruelest blow of them all!

Fans should be alarmed- your recruitment has been ordinary for next season and there have been some solid players off contract this year that would have made an improvement to your 2008 squad.

Mark O'Meley
Jason Ryles
Brent Kite
Luke O'Donnell
Sonny Bill Williams
Petro Civi?
Josh Perry
Tony Puletua (Permission to negotiate)
Brett Kimmorely
Ben Roberts
Craig Wing

No shortage of talent available to buy. It's not like Wests don't have the money either!

Until Phats was released to go to England we didn't have much left under the cap.

Reeks or poor management

I know the feeling champ. Where is it all? Benji, Farah, Hodgson, Payton deserve solid cash but the rest should be on no more than 200K each.. it's surprising considering the Tigers '05 success you should have had players knocking on your door chasing the club.

I reckon with your squad you finished up as expected. Just out of the 8. I predicted my mob would finish around 9-10th with your squad.

I'm at a loss as to why we don't have quality forwards banging on the door for the chance to play off Farah... Maybe since he signed on for another couple of years this will attract a few? Especially if he gets a run in a few more rep games over the next year or two.

Welcome aboard smeg
The bandwagon of this school of thought is adding carriages by the week.
There were 4 or 5 of us 3 months ago that told everyone what clowns we had in charge

In light of the recruitment decisions over the last 2 seasons, makes one wonder. Contract extensions, for 2 players of little urgency, at a time when the team was was becoming unravelled through poor position filling, recruitment choices, combined with a crisis in finding the answers, and major players left unsigned- the timing was not just poorly chosen, it was undiplomatic. A real "huh?"... just as the club was dealing with a cap shortage for key players, 2 who nobody else would want, get chunky extensions. Ever since the last round vs Penrith in 05, have always wondered what jnr. was doing in the 25... Passes went over the sideline, hasn't been a tackler, not very decisive, seems to have trouble staying upright at times. Good with ball in hand, and no defence to get in the way, but apart from that... Seems more like a sprinter who has made a late change to RL. Wonder what happened with these extensions? Recall jnr being one, fitz the other. But shortly after that, it was announced that Fitz, Hodgo, Galea and Whats would finish this year.

There must be oversight on recruitement, selection and positional strategies.
