Apparently Mr Shines is going to play Ayshford at 5/8th this weekend. Any thoughts ?

At least he didn't reach for the usual JMo option !

I hope he playes well.

Down the track we may see Morris on the bench as utility with three forwards.

I reckon that would be a good way to go but a massive ask for the younster to step up every week

Lewis, perceived by the coaching staff to be very vulnerable in defense. We seem to carry other players with the same deficiencies as they have other skills to offset their poor defense. I would have thought Lewis's kicking game alone and throw in the ability to be able to pass the ball might give him some credit points, but I guess coach Sheens dosnt see it that way and we all know when Sheens dosn't rate you its time to pack your bags and start looking for a new home

Whats wrong with Lewis???????

Who can fathom Sheens team selection thoughts? He's got me.......... Some players just never seem to get an opportunity.

I can only assume in this case Sheens justification would be that Ayshford is in the NRL squad and Lewis is only in the State Cup side..........

I recall Todd Payten giving Josh Lewis a big wrap in pre season training. God only knows why Shames doesn't play him.

I was kinda excited when i found out we'd signed Josh Lewis... How naive of me to think he'd actually get a game...

I have seen a couple of state cup games featuring Josh Lewis. He isn't the answer in first grade. In fact from what I saw his kicking game doesn't even rival Benji's and we know how much of a work in progress that is.

I actually think Sheens is on the money with Blake A at 6, suits the mold for a no6 these day, has some size about him, good defense and ball skills. Still a big call to throw him in at six against the warriors in NZ and I do agree its funny how a player like Lewis is not even considered.

and Benji and Prince are better defenders?

What a crock.

At the moment we are relying on the very inconsistent kicking game of Marshall (Kicks way too deep at time, out on the full other times and straight to the defence the other times) and John Morris (midfield grubber kicks, cross field bombs to no-one but the opposition, kicking too early in the set)

Its a sad state of affairs when the best kicking comes from the guy under the most pressure defensively, the hooker.

You haven't seen enough of him, I watched many games of him last year in the QLD cup, along with his few first grade games, he's more than capable of cutting it in first grade, if some dumb merkin would give him a crack.

Poor Ayshford. The weather wasn't ideal and he was playing outside a schizophrenic halfback, but his performance was reminiscent of Ben Duckworth at his worst.

I don't mind him as a lock/ centre, however he's hopeless at 5/8.

And then there's Beau Ryan. Lol. Beau Ryan. First Grade.
