Forget Green, I still have nightmares about his defence at Bruce Stadium last year.

Yeah thats him..

Why not Eddie Pea

Why Eddie Paea?

Shown in NYC he is a very good fullback or 5/8. Definitely not a halfback..... we don't need players that Souths reject (as decent a game as Joe had yesterday he hasn't been worth whatever we paid).

On Joe, we didn't actually pay that much as half his contract is being picked up by the bunnies

Probably our best 2 buys in the last decade where Souths rejects.

Fui Fui Moi Moi
Wade McKinnon;-)

Langmack rejects. ;-) And if you want to make the argument more fun put in Paul Stringer.

And McKinnon only went to Souths to play first grade and then came "home".

Really though Paea is not an organiser and we are covered in terms of 5/8 and fullback.

he, with Brad Drew and Chad Randall have been singled out as a possible replacement for Pig.
i honestly don't think we should be looking to have a specialist hooker on the bench next year.

i think we should be looking at 6. kk; 7. finch; 9. mk; 13. mateo - using finch or kk as a back-up hooker from just before to just after half-time if mk needs a rest. at the risk of sounding like a broken record, i still think we should be looking at 2-3 props on our bench next year (much like we should've been this year).

i wouldn't mind green coming back but we would have to release finch.

I hate talking about next season BUT I think Benny Smith will be on the bench for sure next year to play a similar role to Dean Widders in previous years.

I seem to remember Blake was disappointed that he left parra at the time?

I'd take him as a bench player, to cover 6,7,9. Finch could do the same, but we need Finch's talk out there for 80mins imo, now that players around him seem to be better able to understand you need to make an 80min team effort and not just hope to get by on your individual brillaince, and that's what doing and following the on-field talk is all about.

Ndaira would be good, and maybe a loaded deal with less money in the first year, and more in the second/third might help get one of those blokes over here. Much better options than an old Drew, and a London-softened Randall.

Agree with the starting line-up there. But who slots into halves when mk has a rest? Do you mean Mateo, with a prop coming on in his place?

I think it's good to have a guy who can cover halves/dummy half on the bench, matched with three forwards - preferrably props given our backrow of Hindy, Mateo and ??? are probably/hopefully going to each play 80 mins.

ja. if finch goes to hooker then kk plays 7 with mateo at pivot during mk's spell (or even kk to hooker with finch and mateo in the halves would maybe keep the team flow better)

i think with limited interchange the bench should be used more effectively than it is and in my opinion i don't like the idea of a specialist hooker playing from the bench. using an on field rotation with 6, 7 & 13 means that we can interchange with a forward rather than a specialist rake.

Yeah, I think some coaches really haven't got to grips with the possibilities (or limitations) of the reduced interchange rule this year.

We do need more probs in rotation though, not generic forwards attempting to play as props which for various reasons has been the case a fair bit at the Eels this year.

People saying meh to Green....assuming he wants to come back, and we have the space on a second tier deal, we should take him. Othwerwise, who exactly do you propose we play in the halves if Finch goes to sh*t or goes with injury, whichever happens first. Or if both Finch and Keating go down for any period of time? We have lost the next two in line (Maloney and Hodkinson) and have no one ready to step up to replace them. Add to that Green is a very promising player (with a kicking game, which we need) who can cover 6,7,9, and 13 in a pinch, and we'd be mad to say no if he wanted to come back, and mad not to make an offer of some kind if the rumour is true.
