Blaming the Ref Syndrome

I work with people that know the trainer and say he would not have done it on purpose, just not that sort of guy and I I have not reason to doubt them. The reason the punishment is harsh is repeated blunders by the riff trainers.
I do think think that the kick should have been retaken from in front.

What are they gonna say though?
"Oh Brock? Yeah he's a f**king merkin from way back. Wouldnt trust him as far as i could throw him! Would cheat his own mother if he thought it would help the team win."

Like come on. Be serious.

Exactly. We're not talking about Jackson Hastings here.

And Penrith coming out and saying it was an honest mistake. It's not as if they are going to say that did it on purpose to get an advantage.

The NRL has a role to play in what they allow teams to get away with until they take it too far and the NRL is obliged to step in. Surely a trainer doesn't need to come on the field every time they have the ball and sit behind the attacking team. I am sure they help with counting numbers and where to run. Simple solution, stay off the field unless someone is injured. Someone is thirsty and needs a drink, they can come to the sideline when you have the ball or there is a break in play and they exit the field where they are closest to the sideline or out the back.

There are plenty of people in RL that I and others would def say that about.

Annoyingly, it just says it's illegal and doesn't state what (if any) penalty is available to the referee to enforce. I can't find any information on it in a google search either.

I know. I dare say the ARLC will be amending the rules in the off season to specify what recourse is available to the referee.

I reckon the trainer incident was no where near the most controversial thing that happened in that game.
The Sami no penalty try was probably the worse calls for of the day. Yeah the Titans scored next set but that was a complete howler.
The time off for Liam Martin copping a bump was also a bad one. Titans on a roll
Also, Badger overruling the Fermor strip to a knock on wasn’t a great call.
In saying all that, the Titans are way too inconsistent and their defence sucks. They were lucky it didn’t end 60-0 after the debacle of the first half.
