Bloody Dogs

I had a make or break bet tonight on High Fiddle (or something like that) up against the great Texas Gold tonight. It was second favourite, but at the first bend, they decide to start rooting each other off the track!

I hate betting on dogs but something draws me back  better then harness anyway. Half the horses in harness never have a chance because of where they settle

If you got the money to bet big enough on the exactas/quinellas the speed dogs on sky ratings are the way to go...

The 3 they put up as the 3 fastest out on sky. They so often win (1 of the 3) and 1 of the others runs second... Need a good bank to get started though.

i love betting on the dogs but yeah it can be a costly exercise.

i think time form is the best guide to dogs. see which dogs are running quick times consistently. if they ran a super time last tiem but slow before that then leave them alone. chances are they got the dream run last start

and moffo, i always back No. 1, 2 or 3 in the trots to eliminate most chance of my horse being 4 back on the pegs. look at Sky and see which horses will be quickest out and if it's No. 1, 2 or 3 back them.

I back numbers at the dogs.
Depending on the track I have a different set I use.
Sure you have some lean patches but you have some real good ones too.
Nuffs your the reason my horses are always under the odds at the trots.
I back 1,2 and 3 at HP all the time. (trifectas)
I'm not having a good run with them at present though.
There have been a good flow of winners but no trifectas.

I just use those form sheets they put up at the TAB. They seem ok. Dogs are good though, only 8 of them so it's harder to have a shocking run and you know they haven't got a fat bastard behind them who's trying not to win. I hate harness racing.

Yeah those forms are similar to the sky ratings. Always like to look for the dog drawn close to the rail with the arrow saying it gets out fast.

Sometimes when I am out of the office and walk past the tab I'll just box an exacta with the 2 quickest out. Pick up every now and then.

nuffs i like your logic but they have to be quick out. if they blow the start from barriers 1,2,3 even a little bit, they'll get stuck behind the horses wide out and its game over. How often do horses win from the Snappy Tom Sprint Lane?

i like backing the one at the dogs but the box doesn't stop me from backing one. If its quick enough out it doesn't matter where it comes from. That said, boxes one and eight are clearly the best.
