Gee fishy you're right, they are practically identical things to do aren't they? Putting a club in debt, or having an arrest warrant issued for corruption while you were Prime Minister of a country.

Try harder mate :).

No, they're not the same, but wouldnt you be better off worrying about what the owner of your club has done to it, though I guess from the other side of the world doing things like whacking up season ticket prices so that your club pays off someone elses debt wouldn't bother you. If it did, you'd go support FC United of Manchester ;-)

oh look at all the MCFC bashers come out of the woodwork...

Might the fact that the military junta in chrage of Thailand at the moment is about to lose, or is at risk of losing its power, have something to do with recent politcal pushes in the anti-thaksin direction?

A lot of facts have been muddled up in the whole story. Many people are claiming Thaksins move towards helping and educating the poor and lower class upset the middle class, hence the revolt.
now I wasn't there and am certainly not the most well read person on the subject, but I do believe there is so much more going on behind the scenes than any westerener knows.

i ask this question:

Did any of you request that Australia boycotted Asia Cup matches because Thailand was involved?

or

Did anyone request the australians travel by boat so as not to use Dr Thaskins airport? ;)

The same way you'd be better off worrying about your own club instead of constantly trolling the MUFC thread? Too easy mate :).

Hey, just following your lead ;-)

In any case, I dont care for city either way.

But I have a question, and I'm not asking this to have a go, just curious and wonder what the city fans think.

That being, when the Thai took over city, I remember reading somewhere there is a character test that you need to pass to own a premiership team, and that basically hinges on being convicted of a criminal offense.

So...if thats right, and he gets trialled and convicted, where does city stand with him?

BTW Brendan, your request for a boycott of thailand, in hindsight, probably wouldnt have been a bad idea

Do you read the thread before you decide to make a fool of yourself? Glazer doesn't have an arrest warrant issued against him for corruption. Bugger me, I'm not too hot on the idea of being owned by a yank who plunged us into debt but it's sure as sh*t better than being owned by a corrupt ex-Thai Prime Minister!

As i said in my post, there is so much more goign on in thailand than any of us know.

Military coups are never as shallow as the pages of the Telegraph or the bbc.

You also have to remember most clubs are now owned by big rich bazillionaires.

Also, Sydney FC should be under investigation. They are part owned by Anthony Lapaglia and some of his on screen performances can only be classified as criminal.

On to the topic of the matches at hand. Thanks to foxtel I can watch 5 premier league games and a champions league qualifier all at the same time.

f**king sensational.

I am currently under the dooner on the couch, dog curled up at my feet, $50 tab slip on City Half Time/Full Time double in hand awaiting kick off.

I love cable television.

CMON CITY!
