Even as an old Balmain fan this type of lets split the club up as bad for us. It will never happen and I doubt the NRL would let it happen and it just constantly divides the fan base. Although when the club itself has the Magpies in NSW they only have themselves to blame for this type of division.

But I would like to see someone rich enough come in and purchase the club so we can remove our ridiculous board structure and maybe become a competent club. On the proviso that we are Wests Tigers now, we can honor our dual heritage but we have to be one club going forward.
Once the Boomers pop their clogs (not too long now) this will go away.

“I tell you what, I would do it in a very respectful way with Wests by trying to convince them that Western Australia would be good for the Wests Magpies — and Campbelltown — and the ‘Tiges’ would come back to Leichhardt,” Field said.

Yeh definitely seemed a good idea 10 beers in lol

If that’s what he wants to do if Wests Ashfield sold the licence then good on him, but this is the problem for Wests Tigers, they have 3 sets of fans, Magpies, Balmain & Wests Tigers.
It was a rediculous merger when it was announced mid-season 1999

three sets of fans, only one are good for the club and they are actively kept off the board. Almost 25 years on and people refuse to move on.

Better off sending the WHOLE joint venture up to brisbane, then split them up as Easts Tigers and Souths Magpies, knocking off 4 birds with one stone
(The stone being the 18th licence)

That should keep that insufferable utter fwit grotd happy
