EA, there's plenty opf scope for 'out there' posts. I got by on a variety of posts that weren't the conventional "hows my team, who do I like, why X brandf will win rthe premiership' The classic hoistroical piece also has its place but my trademark, when I was trying (one or two duds slipped thru the net) was a different view of league.
It's still a writing competition but if there's something different it stands out better than quality sometimes.
