Ryan remains loyal to the pack

The Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs announced that  Andrew Ryan has agreed to a new four-year contract that will see him stay at the club until the end of the 2008 season.
Ryan, 26, had an outstanding season in 2004 seeing him selected in the New South Wales State Of Origin team, captain the Bulldogs to Grand Final victory and take part in the Kangaroo Tour.

Ryan, born in Dubbo, made his NRL first grade debut in 2000 with Parramatta, before switching to the Bulldogs in 2002.

Ryan commented, “I was wrapped to captain the team last year in the Grand Final and I’m extremely happy to secure my future with such a great club.”

Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes commented “It’s a great boost to the club to have one of our senior players agree to probably play out his career with us. Andrew’s re-signing will be the first of many for the club over the next few months.”

Bulldogs CEO Malcolm Noad added, “Andrew had a great year last year and has a very professional approach to the game. Our newer recruits will learn a lot from him about what it takes to be a professional player.”

How about we sit here and talk about nothing especially during the offseason where league articles are almost non-existent.

Good luck to him.

This will makes things that little more difficult to hang on to the likes of Sonny Bill Williams, Mason, Anasta etc... Maybe they have virtually given up on some of these realising that couldn't compete with the cash that will be on offer. The salary cap at the dogs just got a little tighter..

Do you think they will get both. If thats the case then one would think Mason and Anasta are definately out of the equation. Anasta will probably head to union. Wasn't Anasta also from the rabbits originally? Maybe he might head back there for big dollars? :?: :?: :?:

Hindmarsh, Cayless, Afamasaga, Morrison, Robinson - I rate each of these higher than Ryan, and they are all at Parramatta.

Good on him for getting a deal, but we don't need him.

Was Anasta a rabbits junior? They might throw some big bikkies his way do you think to try and attract other players to come to the club. Mind you Anasta is half the player he used to be and thats even in a winning team. Doesn't say much for him really. :?:

how about we use the forum as its meant to be used. Open discussion based whereby persons can post things that may or may not be of interest to some. To be honest I don't give a toss about Ryan etc... but posted it to attempt to generate some discussion. Yes lets talk about the eels as thats what I'm here for. ;-)

Money talks....Souths have lots of money to spend and Braith Anasta wants a lot of money and hopefully will return to Redfern to play in the red and green.

Might then drag other players to the club. As much as I'm not a rabbits fan it would be good for the club and more importantly the fans. They have not had it good for some time now. Mind you there recruitment process needs a revamp.
