Books you've read you'd hate to see made into a movie.

Following on from Unit's thread, whether you think a movie/TV series would spoil the book or whether you'd just hate to see those characters on a screen.

I'll start:

Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time - what a cluster f**k of a series. I got to book five and ditched them as I couldn't keep up with all the story threads.

David Eddings The Malloreon and The Belgariad. You could probably tell both stories with the one movie as they are very similar, but still great writing and character creation.

The Chroniciles of Thomas Convenant. The movie would go on for a week.

The Riftwar Saga Raymond E Feist. I honestly believe a movie adaptation would ruin this series. Well up until Raymond lost the plot introducing demons and crap. Although I think the linked Empire series he wrote with Janny Wurts would make a good movie, give the femos something to chew on for a while. :)

Chook.

Have to agree with all of yours and I would add David Gemmel's stuff. I don't think a movie audience could love Druss.

i love fiest and gemmel.

i agree it would probably be too hard (or it would be f**ked in the process) to make movies out of the books.

the only exception would be waylander by gemmel. awesome character.

Many will disagree with me, but all of Matthew Reilly's stuff.

It's great in a book form and you just know if it was put on the big screen, they'd f**k it up completely.

Some great books have already been decimated by f**ked up movie adaptations. Namely:-

The Sum of All Fears - Tom Clancy

Escape From Alcatraz - J. Campbell Bruce

The dirt ( the Mötley Crüe story)

If made into a movie you'd be subjected to their f**ken shithouse music .

Book was good though.

It is the type of book I read.

ISIS is a jihadist group now, before that it was a routing protocol..
