I've seen it. It wasn't bad, but I thought the first one was much better.

You just can't beat that car chase through Paris I reckon.

There is talk of doing a Bourne Ultimatum in the not too distant future as well.

It's only worth watching if you've seen the first one. I went with friends who hadn't seen the Bourne Identity and they hated it.

I really wanted to like it, because I loved The Bourne Identity and because I'm a fan of the books. Unfortunately, Doug Liman's commitment to The OC meant he wasn't able to reprise his role as director, which meant they had to hire a hack like Paul Greengrass.

Whilst the movie had its moments, his inability to hold a shot for more than two or three seconds, as well as his unhealthy penchant for handycam, meant that sometimes you felt kind of sea-sick watching the movie.

For those who have read The Bourne Supremacy novel, don't expect it to be even remotely close to what you see. Where The Bourne Identity managed to keep a few elements, The Bourne Supremacy movie has absolutely nothing to do with the books. Entirely different setting, absent characters, characters killed for no reason, new characters invented. It is, for all intents and purposes, just the producers using the name of the novel for continuity purposes.

The novel of Supremacy was terrible IMO.

I tried reading it a couple of years back, got half way through and gave up.

I actually think Ludlum was a poor writer, who made his books far to complex.

The one thing I don't like in the movies is how Bourne is actually an assassin not just just pretending to be one.

i didn't even know there were books

The books are set in the mid 70s after the Vietnam war and have pretty much nothing to do with the movies.

A miniseries starring Richard Chamberlain (sp?) was made which is more faithful to Ludlum's original work.

I actually think Ludlum was a poor writer, who made his books far to complex.

At times he was yes, but he has written some excellent books all the same.

Matarese Circle and Sigma Protocol are great books.

His main problem though was that he followed a sort of Tom Clancy like criteria that had to be in the books. There always had to be some sort of operative or conspiracy threating the free world or the global economy or something.

Clancy focuses more on terrorism and is obsessed with Marines and the US Navy. I cannot think of any Clancy novel I have read that doesnt mention a Marine or the USS Saratoga.

Not as good as the bourne identity but still great. However if your idea of a good action flick is Daredevil or somethign with Vin Deisel you might not like it.
