Radio reports suggested that Boyd, who is apparently one of the players being advised to look elsewhere if they want a raise, would announce a deal with the Titans this week. Boyd and his manager have been tight-lipped, but Michael Searle made this comment to the CM yesterday:

"We expressed an interest in Darius, who is a quality footballer, but there was no formal offer," CEO Michael Searle said. "We haven't heard from Darryl (manager) for a couple of weeks and we're in retention mode, not recruitment mode."

Hopefully he'll stick around, he's come along quite well this season and would still likely get a start in next years backline. Another thing is that Boyd has expressed interest in playing fullback (like Michaels with centre), which may be a point he'll consider with regards to his future.

I'd say he'd be on bugger all right now. So with no contract upgrade being offered I'd say he won't be around for long particularly with a bit of form under his belt to increase his market value.

Boyd and Stagg are near certainties of going, and as has been previously mentioned the deals are likley done already. Clearly the club doesn't want their services after continuing to push them out the door even after they took the option to stay.
