Saw on Ten News this evening that one of your masters Russell Crowe has chucked some money behind it IMO will be a good doco to have a look at. But i have a question is it John Sutton that has "Bra Boys" tattoed on him I think its him because on the clip it should him scoring a try. Just out of curiosity.....

For those who dont know what im on about check out the Bra Boys site

Yeah Sutt has 2035 tattooed on his forearm in roman numerals.

The footage was of him giving the boys slap when he scored his first try in FG - against broncos i think?

I think Sutton also has the Bra Boys tattoo on his stomach. I went to the advanced screening of the Bra Boys Documentarylast Wednesday, it was very well done, worth seeing.

A bit rich to call it a "documentary" when it is written and directed by members of the very group it aims to portray. Check this review, for balance:

http://blownglass.wordpress.com/2007/03/08/bra-boys-film-review-surfing-localism-violence/

I enjoyed the review as linked but I havent seen the film so I cant vouch for its accuracy.

But there were a few insightful comments about broader societal issues.

People are social animals. We like to belong. I am certain that there is good and bad in the bra boys. If people dont belong, its easy to feel isolated. Some people would rather live a more dangerous life and feel like they belong (coppers, bikies, bra boys) than to be safe but essentially lonely.

I'm not planning on visiting Maroubra anytime soon, so I am not directly affected by the bra boys. They can have their beach.

During the riots, I felt a hell of a lot safer in downtown Blacktown than anywhere east of Parramatta.

But if you want to play the tough lad, if you want the life of crime -you have to wear the usually unpleasant and mostly disasterous life-consequences.

I seen the movie last night. It was awesome hey! I can't believe how crazy they are with their surfing man! Even Occie said he wouldn't take on that wave at I think it was Bronte or something? crazy bastards! ...

Reporter: Is it true you tried to protect the police last night?
Jai: Listen we don't protect police full stop!

I don't get it. If a player fails a drug test & is outed by the N.R.L,then that is considered as bringing the Game into disrepute. However, consorting with known criminals & drug pushers isn't considered as bringing the Game into disrepute by the N.R.L.

Nothing more than a bunch of thugs. I mean there are the ones who generally care about the community and such but many of them are just stupid kids tryin to be coo and feel good about themselves
