Francis got traded for Z-Bo on draft day then Portland bought him out. He signed to the rockets after that sometime.

Rockets are a very, very good team so its no disgrace on Brads part that he didnt make the roster this year. The fact he has already been invited back shows that Rick Adelman (who is the perfect coach for Brad in the NBA) thinks he has a future with them. They are just too loaded this year.
