Crikey, a team that only a decade ago was one of the Front Runners of the game, a team that produced the Burgess family, had to sell their home ground to pay off debts and a team that everyone expected to rise above this and regain promotion, really sad, I know what it's like to lose a side you played for and it's gone.........

There derby games against Leeds in the late 90's/early 2000's were classic with 20000 plus crowd's...a bloody shame.

Decent summary of recent mismanagement here http://www.thetelegraphandargus.co....ford_Bulls_were_brought_to_their_knees_again/

Now 'confident' of securing a buyer. They won't disappear, but one would imagine it'll be a long road ahead.

BTW, only Sam is product of Bradford, Luke and the twins came out of the Leeds academy

Champions in 2005 no? Then they just went to absolute gash. It's a damn shame for a great club but maybe they need to do a Rangers and start again.

Down to one potential buyer. Discussions stalling on ownership of Odsal Stadium (currently owned by RFL after previous admin, I believe). RFL obviously want to save club, but have rest of clubs to think about...tough one, potential owners want stadium as part of deal. Discussions continue Thursday.

Sadly, back office staff all served with notice of potential redundancies on Wednesday. Difficult news for them, especially at Christmas.

Good on the Rfl for not handing over odsal to an owner with the only interest of developing it for other purposes. the only result of that would be another homeless RL club.

Talking with friends in England it appears they are down to the last potential buyer and understandably the RFL are not going to give up the lease they have on the ground.
My frineds think that its odds on that Bradford will start the 2017 season in the 3rd tier comp.

Would they reinstate one of the relegated sides if Bradford were forced down to league one? From memory it was Whitehaven who finished in 11th?

Logicly i suppose that would have to be what happens.

I agree logically it's what should happen. but perhaps it could be too late for a side to step back up and be competitive. I am sure a string of players have left the relegated clubs and likely replaced by inferior players. so they may choose to rebuild in league one rather go through another likely relegation season

That would be the downside if Whitehaven were given a reprive as i would expect that they have lost some decent players

Whitehaven are rooted. They won't even have a top league 1 side. They cut players before the last season was even over and I think they even struggled to field a team some weeks. They'd be better off promoting the third placed league 1 side, which was Barrow, who, unlike Whitehaven, are expected to be up the top of league 1 next year, possibly even favourites behind Toronto.
