Why shouldn't they be out on the pisser? I get on it from time to time. I don't expect anyone else to take responsibility for what I do either.

It's an unworkable situation that you're expecting. Fine, I'll try to keep my mates out of trouble when we're out, in the extremely odd chance that they'll get themselves into trouble, but I will not take responsibility if they don't listen to me.

Some players were in bed. Others were doing their own thing. Each player had the oppotunity to make a decision, and they have to live with that, not Steve Mortimer. These players should be perfectly capable of functioning in the world, just as we're expected to be.

It's unworkable because they DONT work at this kind of thing being wrong or un-professional. They do in the AFL and it works great and they rarely have problems. I've heard of some clubs even having alcohol bans during the season. It CAN be done. RL clubs though don't encourage it. And THAT is where the problem lies.

I'm nearly 30 and have never been drunk in my life even though I enjoy alcoholic drinks. It's called responsibility. Getting intoxicated is called stupidity.

The un-professional actions by some NRL clubs, especially the Bulldogs, will only ALWAYS be damaging for the game. And to themselves. AND especially to others. Possibly some players COULD be going to jail over this(i said could). Why? *edit* Or it's ok because "they had the oppotunity to make a decision". Or because drinking till intoxicated is ok because everyone does it.

It's time to stop the irresponsible behavior of idiots like this. This shouldn't EVER be normal behaviour for a professional NRL club(anyone really). Wanna do it? Don't play RL in the NRL then. Hopefully Mr Gallop will make an example of the Bulldogs over this incident. I heard he may fine the club $1 million. Double it. Ban the players from State games. And for playing for Australia.

*edit*

Clean up the filth. Clean it up now.

No...better yet, if they are guilty, jail them for 55yrs like what Skaff got.

If found guilty though. NOT been proven yet

I will admit to being intoxicated before and more than once a lot more than once. But it's not stupidity, I know when I am intoxicated and will either switch to water or go home.

As for the AFL was it not Richmond who have had problems in the past with Danny Frawley having to bail a star player (Brad Ottens) out of the lock up.

Is it not Carlton who have over the last few years had Matt Lappin and Brendan Fevola on the drink and playing up at a Uni party and on another occassion running amok at a dry cleaners. Is AFL not the sport that supplied us with Gary Ablett who admitted giving illegal drugs to a young 20 yr old who subsequently passed away from an overdose.
Was it not the Brisbane Bears who a few years back (before becoming the success they are now) who were investigated for similar accusations to the ones being levelled at Canterbury now.

These are just a few examples I can think off.

Mark I would suggest you stop preaching the AFL having moral high ground when both codes have the same issues.

I would also suggest you think twice about labelling about people that get intoxicated being stupid.

If thats the way you want to live your life than so be it. To label being intoxicated as stupidity though is probably not a good idea - even a few drinks will make you intoxicated - doesn't this make you stupid? Be careful how you label people. You choose not to drink but because I do doesn't make me stupid. I choose to drink and on occassion have been known to be quite intoxicated however I also have known when enough is enough. Its could drinking responsibly.

If I was you, I would change the bars you are drinking at.

They must be watering down the drinks.

Dickhead, you're the one claiming people who drink are stupid and then you go and misspell words. Who's stupid?

NRL to take no action on Bulldogs
March 5, 2004

THE National Rugby League board will not pursue any action against the Bulldogs over allegations of misconduct.

The board today also postponed a decision about any punishment dished out to the embattled club because of sexual assault allegations until police had finished their investigations.

In an interim report of over 50 pages, the board found no evidence to substantiate claims of brawling outside a Coffs Harbour nightclub, any misconduct towards female patrons and no examples of general misconduct.

The interim report did not take into account sexual assault allegations currently being investigated.

"The NRL should not take any action which might endanger the balance of fairness in later proceedings unless and until that prospect is removed," the board said in a statement.

The board also discussed Darren Lockyer's comments yesterday and decided against further action after taking into account the speed and nature of his public apology.

Test skipper Lockyer stunned more than 500 guests at a football luncheon in Brisbane by repeating a crass joke relating to the Bulldogs sex scandal and former St George great Johnny Raper.

With regard to the Melbourne Storm's confirmation two of its players were being investigated by police over an alleged rape, the board again decided to wait until the police investigation was completed.

"I acknowledge and share the frustration some people may feel in wanting to see penalties imposed," NRL chief executive David Gallop said in a statement.

"We are however in relation to the Bulldogs and the Storm talking about matters of the greatest seriousness.

"We are not the police and can't pretend to second guess their investigations.

"I trust they are doing everything in their power to ensure that this matter is being dealt with as speedily as possible.

"Once we are clear about the extent of their investigations and some of the outcomes we can readdress this issue but until then we can only take steps to ensure we do everything possible to prevent anything which casts this sort of shadow over our sport."

The NRL is doing the right thing. I feel sorry for them when they are trying to clean up the game just to have new events and issues dominate league in a negative way. I think the Bulldogs event should now be left to the police to deal with and even the Bulldogs staff has been wise to call the players innocent until found guilty....we can all speculate what happened and their are two sides to every story.....Let's get excited about the up and coming on field action around the corner and leave the players private life up to the police. A lady phoned up on the radio today and said how an afl player was sleeping with young underage girls years ago and paying players to watch his sex acts through a two-sided door.....why do they cover-up all their actions? Not that I'm saying it is good to cover up.....but why do we not hear about other codes the same way we do abouit league? I think both parties in the Bulldogs are guilty anyway......the players.....and also the girl......!!!!!!

OK then, I'll rephrase the question... Have you ever had a wank? I just get the feeling you're gonna say no.

And who you calling "butt ugly"?
