No one has said Leichhardt Oval isnt worth saving merely that we must go about it the right way. Which is to show the government that there investment wouldnt go to waste. Sincas you talk about it coming from the sport and rec budget but it isnt as simple as that. It is still money that could arguably be spent in other areas. Nothing that Sandra Nori said should be construed as a lack of support. She merely said that there is a process for this type of thing and that process will be followed. You can guys can talk about the community all day long but the community does not have the product which will make LO a sustainable entity, wests tigers does. The fact that the Wests Tiger (not to mention Balmain) disagree with this proposal doesnt help your cause, and in reality any attempt to fix LO must be done with their consultation. This argument about crown land is churlish. Its no point builing a stadium if no one will play there

Great post Red Rugby. You nailed it.
Southern, I know what you are saying and don't disagree. Here is what I will say though;
1. There have been approaches made to Ms Nori and the response has been far from encouraging. It may have sounded justified on radio and what she says does make sense but that doesn't mean its how it seemed on radio. I agree 100% that we need to take the focus off Nori and get the club and Council to get the proposal worked out. We can then target Nori. The media has turned it into a Nori issue, not us.
2. Our aim is to show the Govt this is a worthy cause and money should be found to save it. Part of that is proving how important it is to the citizens which is what the petition aims to do.
3. Don't believe everything you hear from Nori about the club being unsupportive of this campaign. We are in constant contact with the Balmain club and have worked together on parts of this. We are investigating what she meant by all that but my message to you is not to jump to the conclusion she is correct. We don't believe we are pulling in different directions but obviously we need to sit down and discuss things if that is the case. We all want the same thing and if the club does not agree with us then that is news to us. By club I refer to Balmain.
4. Your point about no point building a ground if nobody will play there is valid. I have raised it myself only recently. The club won't give us gaurantees but I am hoping to get more info on the club's future plans because I agree it is pointless wasting time and energy if our own club won't play there.
