Well Management signed a player not released!! sadly he is a QLD Cup player with no 1st grade experience.

Hope he works out and makes an impact but 1 of Gibb, Gordon, Laurie or Paulo needs to make an impact if we will go good next season. Still we struggle in the area of recruitment

Cowboys show interest in Gibb

NUNDAH: Rugged Norths backrower Brendon Gibb showed a National Rugby League call-up might not be far away with a superb showing in Sunday’s grand final.
Gibb, who has attracted interest from the Cowboys, was a shining light for Norths despite the 30-20 loss and surely must have turned the heads of NRL scouts.
In defence and attack he stood tall.
The superb display capped an outstanding season for the former under-20 Brisbane Bronco, who played in the inaugural National Youth Competition grand final against Canberra in 2008.
On Sunday he pulled off a remarkable try-saving tackle on Pride fullback Chey Bird, scored the Devils’ opening try and produced a neat right-arm off-load to put winger Gideon Mzembe over in the second half.
Gibb, five-eighth Shane Perry, centre Jack Reed and captain Mark Leafa were all outstanding.
But despite his personal performance, the 21-year-old Gibb was gutted after the match.
``I wanted it so bad,’’ he said. ``It just wasn’t meant to be. So many quality players, everyone deserved it, really deserved it.
``We fought back hard but we gave them too much of a head start.
``We had to have a bit of pride in our jersey, we didn’t want to be embarrassing. We’ve put in too much effort to be embarrassed out here so we had to have a dig.’‘
Gibb said he hadn’t had much interest from NRL clubs but was hopeful his chance would come.
However if it didn’t, he was more than happy to stay at Bishop Park.
``I’ve always got hope NRL is in my future,’’ he said.
``(North Queensland) Cowboys have probably showed most positive interest at the moment but I’ll take it as it comes.
``Hopefully we all stick around next year.
``We definitely want to stick together. We’ve got to have that loyalty.’‘
Norths chief executive Mark Murray said Gibb’s grand final effort completed a season in which ``he hasn’t played a bad game’‘.

It might not be a big name signing, but it could turn out to be a masterstroke. As a Warriors fan it's been interesting to see the development of Lewis Brown (a NSW cup hooker turned Warriors second rower) and James Maloney. Both signings were met with a "who the f**k?" but both are developing nicely and it's these sort of signings that allow teams to go to another level without bursting the cap, and then release them when the cap bites.

Best of luck with him.

We can always hope it works out. Gordon and Bell came from QLd cup and went well. On the other side of the ledger numerous nobodies have come and gone a bit of luck we will go wow what a signing come 12 months time

Bugger, I was really hoping we'd sign Gibb. Very consistent, very talented, made the same kind of impression this year in QLD Cup that Matt Gillett made last year - different style of player though.
