Quite simple really. It's not Parra preventing him from playing elsewhere, it's the legally binding contract he signed. Lyon is in the same position as Tallis when he walked out on Saints for Brisbane, Tallis had to sit out the remainder of his contract and so will Lyon. Parra ARE NOT preventing Lyon from making a living, he can come back and honour his contract whenever he likes. There is no restraint of trade.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you all don't release that if Lyon does decide to come back and you have spent all of your cap on someone like Tate, then you will go over the cap, therefore forcing you to give Lyon a release. The way I see it the Eels are waiting to see if they can snare a high quality centre after June 30, and if they can then they will give Lyon a release.

Wishful thinking buddy. Parramatta won't be forced to release Jamie Lyon at all. If he comes back it would obviously be on match payments, the release would have specified that. Do you think the Parramatta executives and managers don't have experience when it comes to these matters? Then again, you can keep on dreaming for something that'll never happen.

Jamie sees this and decides that he'd like to come back and play (of course for Manly) - so he returns - and because we have no room under the cap we are forced to release him :shock: -- and so he signs on for Manly (who are somehow under the cap even though they have just spent 700K on Kite and Kennedy...)

But, for our resident Einstein (Manly fan) - may I ask this question: why would we release Lyon??? Surely we'd just release some other players to get under the cap so that our centers would be Lyon/ Tate???? (ie Vaealiki/ Vella/ anyone highly paid!)

So don't get your hoes up that Lyon will be playing for anyone else 2K5 save Parra....


By the way - has Jamie ever said that he would come back? And has he said that he would never play for Parra again? I know what Ray Goosely said - but that guy just sells ratings, he doesn't actually know a great deal about footy....
