Prince was constantly injured while at the Broncos and with a reputation he had already built from NQ he was going to cost much more than he was worth to us. Seymour could head down the same road, but if he can get a full season under his belt working with Lockyer he could prove to be the better option of the two.

Seymour.

Prince is a great player but he was injured to much.

We could have still had Prince, but Ikin kept quiet about his retirement the 1st time.

Prince has stated he could still be at the Broncos if he knew about Ikin.

Scott Prince.

We are talking about the incumbent QLD half who re-established himself last season as a rising halfback in the NRL.

As Ghoulies covered, Scott Prince had a horrible run of injuries when at Brisbane and also had to deal with the death of his father in his time at the club. When the Tigers opportunity arose, it was amicable decison from both parties as we had young Seymour rising and Prince was looking for a fresh start.

All I can say to doovepop is "hindsight is a wonderful thing"...Prince was always talented, we saw that in NQ, though it wasn't meant to be in Brisbane unfortunately.

At the minute there is no doubt in my mind on who I would take, going off form leading into the 2005 season, Prince is a shoe in. Seymour was coming on before getting injured though would he have beaten out Prince for the maroon jersey? I am not so sure. I had Seymour partnering Lockyer in Origin 1 IF he started the season well...we will never know given he suffered a cruel season ending knee injury.

Origin 2 saw Lockyer and Prince work really well together, Lockyer was a down on form in Game 3 though Prince through games 1 to 3 was consistently good and arguably our player of the series...IMO, Prince will back up for another brilliant season for the Tigers in 2005 and keep his Maroon jumper with the Maroon selectors who are known for loyalty to the guy who gets the job done.

I would much prefer Scott Prince as half back for the Broncos.

I hope he stays fit and blazes it up for the Tigers this season and especially the Maroons.

I rate Seymour highly is all I can say.
If he plays the full season, I think the Broncos will win.
His durability is the question.

Seymour at Halfback, because he is a Halfback.

Prince at Five-Eighth, because he is a Five-Eighth.

How is this answering the question?

Scott Prince is a converted half where is playing the best football of his career...he IS a halfback.

When Seymour came to the Broncos he was actually a Five-Eighth. Only recently has he converted to Half-back since there was no chance of him taking Lockyers No. 6 jersey.

Prince only because I've seen more of him and the only good thing I remember Seymour doing was this perfect grubber to Stuart Kelly against the Dragons in 2002.

In hindsight it's easy to say Scott Prince. Seymour hasn't done much, that's because he's been injured constantly. It will be interesting to see what he has got with (hopefully) a full season with the Broncos.

the broncos looked the best they had in a long, long time when seymour and lockyer were half and five-eight last year.

if seymour stays injury free this year he will prove he is a more complete footballer than prince. he reminds me of trent barrett.

st george played wests tigers last year and beat them 50 - 0. mark gasnier scored four tries, and he beat prince one on one in all four of them. prince defends one in from the wing at wests. not long after, in origin 3, gasnier was called into the blues side and the same thing happened. he scored two tries on prince's side and the blues ran riot.

i don't care if prince can throw the odd dummy or left foot step. he has a terrible kicking game and can't tackle. if he was a new south welshman he wouldn't even be rated as a possible origin candidate. he has flashes of brilliance but he's not consistent and for the most part is extremely ordinary.

Prince was playing right-side defence in Dragons game, it was John Wilson that made the woeful attempts on Gasnier...

The funny thing is Prince was playing ok as a 5/8 at the Cowboys (and improving).

I still wonder if turning him into a halfback was the best thing?

If he wants to play for QLD it is.
