Will be interesting to see how he goes, if anything it should add a few more to the gate at his first home game.

He starts at the end of june when his contract with Munster finishes. I have my doubts about the need for signing Carney but it's always good to get one back from Union, i never thought he was suited to kick & clap.

good pick up for the wolves, hopefully he comes back and plays well
i heard a rumor that matt king was tryna get out of his contract with warrington so he could return to australia to play NRL or S14 do you think that signing carney had anything to do with that?

Weird as hell.

There were rumours about King but I doubt he will walk away from his big money deal, his form has been a little better since Tony Smith took over too although he is still not really up to Super League standard yet.

its funny that he played SOO over here but is struggling over there
i can see him coming back mayb to S14 big money in that. mclindon did the same thing and he had not a bad season playing for the reds in the S14.

i found that King was always an average player playing in a great team(Melbourne in their prime) chiming in at the end of set pieces, formed a great combination wth Cronk

i disagree i thought and still do think that King is a very good player when he was playin for the storm he fitted in there good deffinently had a good combo with cronk, but his scooting out of dummy half were always solid kick returns were 2nd to none IMO, i believe that he is more of a wing then a centre thats showed in his time with the wolves when he has played centre for warrington i offtend find that he doesnt play well but when he plays wing for warrington more often then not he puts in a good performance.

I must admit, I have only seen a handful of Kings games in the UK, but I think he has been terrible. The best part of Kings game in the centers was his hole running. But other then that, King I dont think was ever really that good.

Brian carney on the other hand, brilliant player with a great personality. Hopefully will have the same impact in the SL that Wendell Sailor has had here.

Yeah Hopefully. :)

The only reason i can see for signing Carney is that Hicks' injury is worse than reported. We have plenty of wingers.

King has been playing better recently, but then so has the whole team. We were rubbish, he is the big money superstar, he gets it in the neck.

Rumour was he was going to go back (or france) but his dad told him a contract is a contract and he should man it up. Now his mrs is at Manchester uni, he is playing better, and he is well coached.

It would be a shame if he left now. Maybe he is gonna get moved back to the centres and Carney will play on the wing.

Problem I always had with Matt King is that he rarely delivered. For his body shape and size, he dosent utilize it very well. He isnt as strong as he looks, dosent have very good Rugby League brains and dosent make up for it with speed. In saying that, he would almost certainly walk into the NSW backline if he were still here.

Carney on the other hand is explosive, brilliant player. If he has the legs in him, he is wonderful to watch. A kid that plays for Canberra, Justin Carney, is almost a carbon copy of Brian Carney. Probably a little bit stronger.

This explains why he was commentating on the Murrayfield Magic games...

Pity he's not headed back to Australia (especially considering he was meant to run around for the Titans) he's a great character and the type of bloke who would be great for the game here.

Yeah agree with this. You look at him and he should have a bigger impact on games than he does. Doesn't say much for NSW backlines though bud, how slow, stupid and weak are those backlines?? (Joke) ;-)

Carney was fantastic and if he is still that good then brilliant. Also he wouldn't of done anything playing union except maybe put on weight so if we can get him fit, ace.

You would hope that Andy Kelly takes nolte and contacts him re the Euro Cup fixtures Ireland is scheduled to play later in the year. Getting a string squad on the field and winning would be the perfect response to thier WC efforts, and install them as favourites for the 2010 comp which gets the winner a 4 nations berth.

Yeah I want to know why was it that he got cold feet to go to the Titans?

He played one season for the Knights was going to go to the Titans when they came in then got cold feet.
