Q - MUST BE A GOOD FEELING BRIAN?
A - Yes it sure is. When I came to the ground today I walked passed the Leagues Club and I saw a hot dog seller and he said to me, I hope it goes all right for you today, and I hope you don't lose your job...Thankfully that is not how it works at this Club. As the recently retired director Joe Joeseph said last week when we had a dinner to thank him for all his service to the Club "Parramatta does not fragment". How right he is.

Q- BRIAN HOW IMPORTANT WAS IT TO RACK UP A BIG SCORE?
A - Very important. Last week I said it in a tougue in cheek kind of way which Paul Crawley fromt he Channel 9 news took the wrong way because he wasn't at the media conference..he took it as gloating the fac tthat I said last weeks win was all planned...I also said at that point that I think we needed a huge win but it was probably beyond us at this stage of the season considering who we have out etc. It was beyond my dreams what we did out there today. Someone told me it was a record win for Parramatta over Manly...how that happens today we have no idea!

Q) DID YOU THINK IT WOULD BE AS WILLING AS IT WAS TODAY?
A) I really did. I'm not sure if the sin bin was warranted to be totally honest. Manly have been playing a brand of footy they like to get off their line and get out there and get at you and try and force errors. We had some people who were willing to do the same, thankfully things went right for us. Today was the first time in a long time that we had a numbe rof bounces of the ball go our way. They led to points.

Q) HAD YOU LOST TODAY WOULD IT HAVE TAKEN THE SHINE AWAY FROM THE WIN OVER NEWCASTLE?
A) Absolutely. We said that all week and it has been a long time since we had any momentum in our joint and today was the chance to make that happen.

Q) WHAT WAS YOUR VIEW ON THE POSSIBLE PENALTY TRY?
A) I would probably need to consult the rule book. My understanding was that it was an illegal act and he committed that while a player was scoring a try, so on the face of it, it should have been a penalty try. I would really need to have a look at the rule book and speak tot he referee guys to see how they came up with what they did.

Q) BRAN MANY PEOPLE THOUGHT DEAN WIDDERS WOULD START THE GAME, BUT HIS IMPACT OF THE BENCH WAS GREAT?
A) Yes it was, and without going into too much detail, I think in Deans time a tthe CLub his best performances, both for him and for us, have been off the bench when the steam has gone after about 20 minutes or so. He was dynamic today.

Q) ANY INJURIES?
A) Yes both Chris Muckert and Justin Tsoulos have suffered shoulder injuries. Chris actually dislocated his whereas Justin did not. That's part of the problem here and even after Newcastle when we had that win we were still not able to put the same team on the park with Michael Witt suspended and Nathan Hindmarsh playing Origin. I don't know how many more we have tro lose before the guy upstairs says enough is enough.

Finally sanity prevails re Widders being used off the bench and ONLY off the bench.

Yeah, Widders has gone a lot better off the bench.

But he hasn't really started in THAT many games, tho

Althrough his time at Parramatta Widders has been a impact player best suited to coming on when the opposition forwards start to tire around 20mins, to me just doesnt have the same impact in the run on side

Guys like Danny Williams have made a career out of playing from the bench so there is no reason why Widders can't do the same.

Let's hope Widders doesn't pick up Williams' tackling technique

Widders has only started when we've had injuries, I hope this convinces Smithy he's a bench player.

Deano can start and can play quite well but lacks the impact he has when he doesn't. The games he did start he was making a hell of a lot of tackles that takes him out of the game. He is most EFFECTIVE off the bench at a tiring defence. ;-)

Still wish Widders had more moves than that right foot step he always does. Sometimes the defence just moves to their right and waits there for him.

Vella is a Parramatta boy, he would never dessert us so we should show him the same courtesy. I still think that many of you owe him an apology. That guy gives his heart and soul to our club and to get bagged like has been is simply not acceptable. Also Luke Burt deserves some of that too. He was very good in both defence and attack this weekend. He is starting to adjust to centre just like he was beginning to do to fullback.
