In the Sydney Morning Herald today:

It's probably no surprise that relations between Newcastle coach Brian Smith and captain Danny Buderus have become strained since Kirk Reynoldson was told last week he should find another club. Buderus and Reynoldson are neighbours and their wives have become friends.

Danny...stop protecting your inept mates and start putting the performance of the club in your thoughts.

elliott & smith are clearing out the deadwood because previous coaches were too close to the underperforming stars to make the hard decisions.
