if memory serves me correct, up to his sacking Deano was leading or top 2 in the Shark Den player of the year points
LMAO, Yeah in a side that was getting beaten week after week. Not to mention the "Shark Den player of the year". Too funny

treisters last games were class!!!!!
he got motm in his last game in the nrl and also in his last game for the sharks!!!!!!
how you can say he wouldnt be worth it is beyond me. We are talking about a player who would die for the sharks, which in these modern days is a rarity for any team!!!!

Don Juan de Lotto said:
Anyone who doubts Treister should review the preliminary final against NZ in 2002.

Then shut the f**k up.

Key phrase hilighted.
It's 2004 in 30 days

Didnt realise that all players who played in 2002 have been made redundant. I assume we now have a two man team:

6. Russ Aitken
17. Keith Galloway

It is interesting that we talk of guts, passion, loyalty and pride in ones club that one plays for , regardless of the scoreboard giving ones all, etc etc.

are we all agreed that these above character traits are what we as fans love and want and dare I say EXPECT in a player who has the honour of playing in our colours ?

Then let us compare the words muttered by Phil Bailey in the past few weeks in the media.

And let us compare the traits of Dean Treister before he was sacked by Chris Anderson ( i know , i know he was released, but let's not kid ourselves here )

Which player fits the initial asset list I began this post with ?

Now I am not for one instant saying it's a case of bring back Dean and get rid of Phil not at all, just trying to put into perspective what different players mean to a football team.

Bailey a more gifted and dangerous footballer ? yes

Bailey bringing more to the TEAM than Dean Treister and his passion ?.......For me I say no, and I say there is a place for both players in a TEAM, we must have balance.

It has appeared all too obvious under Chris Andersons role as coach that the players care about THeir coach and themselves, too young many of them to appreciate the fans and the club that pays their way. Most not even born for as long as most fans who paid their gate each week have followed the team.

I'm not saying bring back all the old players, but the adding of Dean treister to the list would birng some of the passion back.

One year to kick start the young players and show them how a true sportsman acts towards club and fans, and overall, the TEAM.
