Kerr needs to be in the side if we are fair dinkum about making the finals! He oozes confidence and the players around him respond to it.

I thought Wilson at 5/8 offered little, perhaps, micky b should get the gig next week, be surprised if Prince is moved from half though.

I was very surprised at the decision by Sheens NOT to play Kerr this week.

John Wilson is an average centre on his best day - he is most definitely not a 5/8th and provides with little attacking options.

Although I dont see Sheens moving Prince from halfback, I still think Kerr needs to be there with Prince going to 5/8th but still playing at first receiver when he wants - much like Barrett.

Kerr has a very good kicking game and is a much better option than Wilson...

Yep, he has to be in there somewhere. Scotty is battling at club level at the moment.

Wilson and Buettner shouldn't be considered for stand off. Goangod is 100% right. Stick Kerr in the 6 if you don't want to move Prince. He has to be in the team somewhere.

There were a lot of strange selections this weekend, that blatantly backfired. How the hell Graham played and Fulton was dropped I will never know. That wasnt the difference merely symbolic of the shambolic selections that were made this weekend. Kerr must play if we are to be a a chance

hahahahaha

who even cares about the halves. what a silly reaction from fans. How many attacking opportunities did the tigers get? A half dozen at most, and they were so few and far between that there was no opportunity to develop anything. We were put on our backs all day in attack and fell off tackles worse then we had all season. Our problems have nothing to do with the halves. The forwards and our defense is why we got smashed, the halves had no opportunity to do anything. So if you brought kerr in on sunday we would have been smashed by the same margin. The problem was that we just had nothing in defense. There were rarely three players in a atackle and consequently their play the ball was far too fast for us to handle. Sheens has a lot to address this week because our reliable defense and our solid forward pack got absolutely smashed. We can start worrying about the halves when they actually are allowed into the match...untill then it doesn't matter who plays half.

geez B i thought most of the comments were pretty mild. I dont think anyone suggests we would have won yesterday if Kerr played. However, yes I do think the scoreline would have been different. But would we have won? God no. However, i think it was clear that Wilson will always struggle in the number 6

the point is a post like "bring on kerr" suggest there were big problems in the halves yesterday, when it seemed to me like they had nothing to do with the result of the match. Thus, I think the call for such a change is due only to fans wanting change in order to satisfy their discontent with yesterday's match rather then actually looking at yesterdays problems. I don't think the result would have been any different, and I think we need a defensive player like wilson when we come up against the roosters on friday. Would you seriously prefer to add another average defender and replace one of our best for the upocoming match after yesterdays defensive effort? A very bad move in my opinion.

BS B.

Yes the forwards got a pasting. That is why O'Neill, Sattler and Galea will come straight in when fit. That is simply because they are the best you have in their positions. Yes the Tigers need another hard running prop - been saying it for years so what else is new? There won't be too many changes though up front because you don't have better options. I'd drop one of the hookers to make room for a 4th front rower on the bench, but Tim won't do it.

None of this however detracts from the obvious truth that Prince and Wilson is not even close to the Tigers best halves combo. So what if your best halves combo still wouldn't have won you the game yesterday? Is that any reason to continue with sh*t? Wilson is not a 5/8's bootlace. If you can't see that you never will. Prince you can argue about whether he's better as a half or 5/8 till the cows come home. What you can't argue is that he is anything like the same league as Orford or Head after they pasted him in the last two games. He is he Qld half due to injuries alone. The selectors wanted an 18 yr old or a centre before him. Is Kerr the messiah? I don't know. What I do know is that I've been far more impressed with him than any other option. He and Prince are the best two options in the halves and should play there together no matter how good or bad the forwards are going.

Next you'll be wanting Joel Caine brought back from England because we all know how hard it is for fullbacks when their forwards aren't working.

I've never said wilson is a good 5/8. But, I think he is capable of handling the position. With injuries to Reynolds and Benji there isn't a 5/8 at the club. I'm glad Wislon was playing yesterday though because he is a good defender.

You say Orford and Head pasted Prince...well, Orford definately had a good game, but that simply means he had a good game. It wasn't as if two halfbacks were going into the match with equal sides in equal conditions. Instead, Orford was playing for a melbourne side that outperformed us. But, I wouldn't even consider arguing that prince is as good as orford. Orford has been one of the best halfbacks for the last two years and I'd happily settle for a half who doesn't match his quality. As for you comparing Prince to head and claiming head "pasted" prince yesterday, that's just utter rubbish. Prince didn't have a chance, where as head was on a side that dominated in every aspect of the game. I think Prince is a top quality half. I'd rate Johns, orford, Jones, Gower and maybe kimmorley ahead of him, but those are some high quality names that Kerr is no where near as good as.

My point is that our problem is not creativity in the backline. Our problem is go-forward. Sure, the players coming back will address many of our defensive weaknesses but we still lack go-forward. I've never been a supporter of wilson at 5/8, but in my opinion there wasn't a better halves combo available yesterday.

Would people also please stop using selectors opinions in their arguments. You have been a great critic of selectors in the past yappy, so don't quote them in your argument now. They take the players the media look at, and the media jumps on a new bandwagon every week. I couldn't give a shit who they judge to be a talented player. If you look at the origin series, Prince has performed very well. So no matter how he got to be qld half, he is the qld half and he has performed well. Origin generally is seen as a reasonable way for assesing true talent. Tell me yappy, are you going to argue with me about why we should recruit stevens because the selectors picked him? Or tell me that O'hara is a shit prop because he was dropped for stevens? No, you know as well as I do that selectors know f**k all.

just reading other posts and wasn't aware that liam was still playing 5/8 and playing well. I think he'd be my preffered option and a combo of Prince/liam would be my preference. But, moving Prince is the last thing I'd do.

OK this one I'll give you, but it still doesn't make Prince a half.

It's fair enough that you thought the Tigers didn't have a better halves combo yesterday. You're wrong, but that's a point for debate. Where you make yourself look utterly foolish is ...

I'm glad Wislon was playing yesterday though because he is a good defender.

Watch Gasnier's third try again. A good defender does not step out of the way to let a player through on his own line. For that spineless piece of crap alone Wilson should be playing for Balmain for the rest of the year. (and even having to play for Balmain is not punishment enough - he should be sent to Souths ;-) ) My four year old daughter would have made a better effort. It was sickening.
