Honest question, how many of these first eight Friday night fixtures didn't we deserve over our Queensland counter-parts?

Still waiting for an answer...

The second game has always been Dogs v Titans. So basically if they're not gonna stick around and watch the Titans, realistically they won't stick around and watch any team. Personally I don't care what they do, the less Broncos fans around me, the better. I just find it strange

........you still don't get it. Doggies = shit. You can't blame Brisbane fans for not wanting to stick around and watch below par RL.

Stop skipping your uni classes........you're not that bright.

Problem is the length of time the game is running for. If it's on a Friday or Saturday night, the kick-off is between 7:35 and 7:45 so that the commentary team can have a bit of a dribble before the game starts, and then it runs through until about nine, nine-thirty . Then they need five or ten minutes to get the next game running. Then that one runs for another hour and a half plus.

On a Sunday afternoon, it's much better, something like three or three thirty until seven o'clock or so.

But at the end of a long work week, or if you have a younger family or (like me) live more than an hour away from the stadium by public transport, the hassles quickly mount up.

EDIT TO ADD: The fact it's classed as an away game meaning season ticket holders (again, like me) have to fork over again to attend doesn't help much, either.

Why do they have to be a QLD team? The best games should be being shown. QLDers claim they are the home of RL. Prove it, watch game other than a Broncos or an origin game.

Because that isn't how Channel 9 operates. They wouldn't get any value out of their FNF double header if they couldn't show two games live.

Nobody seems to be able to answer the question...

In my opinion, the game vs LOL@5(c)uff$ in Perth and the game vs Canberra didn't deserve Friday night status. Also, it's unfair to the ppl of Perth that they have to turn up at 6pm on a weeknight. Very poor scheduling, almost as bad as when the Cowboys played the Storm on MNF at 6pm last year because of some motorcycle event in Townsville.

Given that the Broncos have YET ANOTHER Friday night game in Rd 10 vs Manly (as part of the Suncorp double header), the bye in Rd 11 and most likely their Rd 12 clash vs Melbourne will be on Friday night (big ratings for that game since its two days after Origin in Melbourne) and after all the complaining in the media about the Broncos getting too many Ch9 games, I don't think the Rd 9 game vs Warriors will be on Ch9. If it was broadcast, it will be on at least 1 hr delay due to the time difference. Most likely, it will be Saturday 5:30pm AET.

So what Qld match would you have ahead of Brisbane/Rabbitohs? Cowboys/Sharks (in Townsville where they want Saturday games) or Warriors/Titans in NZ that have the same time issues.

The only contentious slot is Broncos/Raiders and it's not like Manly/Titans or Roosters/Cowboys (in Darwin) are must see games.

You do realise that a QLD team doesn't have to ALWAYS appear on FNF? I believe Rd 24 and 25 last year didn't have any.

And in answer to your first paragraph, Dragons/Sea Eagles is the game I would have ahead of Rabbitohs/Broncos

R25 and R26 actually and Brisbane had to fight tooth and nail for both as they wanted to draw big crowds for Lockyer's last two home games.

Correction. My mistake.

And I agree that the Broncos shouldn't have had to fight tooth and nail over Lockyer's "regular season" farewell match vs Manly being on Sunday. After watching that game, what's a disgrace is that Ch9 doesn't permanently broadcast the Sunday 4pm game live. It felt much easier watching that game than watching the regular Sunday 4pm game where a passage of play is about to build up when Ch9 decides to shove ads in. Completely ruins the whole flow. Also, another incident a couple of years ago when a team scored a try late and had the chance to force it into golden point with the conversion. I knew before the conversion was taken that the kicker was going to miss as the time was already 5:59pm and it would interfere with 9's beloved "Nine News". To me, that completely wrecked it for me.

Question I have for you Big Pete (hard to take the name seriously when I see your avatar of Sam Thaiday:lol:): do you wish the Broncos had games in other timeslots (i.e. Sat night, Sunday and Monday night)? Would you watch them more or less if they had less Friday night games?

Don't thinks so mate. They're not even the most recognised in Rugby League, Souths or the Dragons are.

ahahah lol@$oufs most recognised as being shit. Brisbane are the most supported Nrl team. And they should be they have this whole damn city to support them. If anything, per capita, the broncos would be doing very poorly for members compared to other clubs.

I want it known that I barely read the Telecrap, but I agree with this article.

BRISBANE's favourable draw over the opening stages of this season is a dead-set disgrace. Fancy having eight Friday night games in succession - each match giving the Broncos a tidy, settled seven day turn-around, and all played in the cool of the night. The Broncos played last Friday night with their opponents this Friday, Wests Tigers, having played a golden point game two days later.
How easy - and unfair to everyone else - for coach Anthony Griffin to prepare his side. Here is what their opponents have had to endure before playing Brisbane: rd 2, North Qld, six day turn-around; rd 3, Newcastle, five days; rd 4, Souths, five days; rd 5, St George Illawarra, six days; rd 6, Wests Tigers, five days.
Do Brisbane get a free ride with the draw? Have your say with Josh Massoud from 12:30pm Wednesday.

All while Brisbane have a comfortable seven-day break to plan training and rehab. Hopefully the new television deal will end Channel Nine's interference in scheduling. Over to you John Grant, please fix this fiasco.
ALL TOO HARD
Finding it difficult to back a home team winner this year? After five rounds, just 15 home teams have won the 40 games contested - a 37.5 per cent success rate. That happens to be the lowest after five rounds in 47 long years.
TAB Sportsbet told us yesterday that 20 outsiders have won the 40 matches so far. Beware this weekend - all eight games are toss-ups.HOT TIP
Brett Stewart to stay at Manly, despite being strongly linked to the Sydney Roosters. The mail out of Brookvale suggests that Stewart will end his career at the Sea Eagles.
The bumbling board that stuffed-up Des Hasler's negotiations last year are terrified of the media and public backlash should Stewart, the Prince of Brookvale, walk away. Kieran Foran, Tony Williams and Steve Matai also remain off contract.
There is talk Manly may look at off-loading Brent Kite, who has been magnificent for the Sea Eagles since joining from St George Illawarra in 2005. Williams looks set to join either Parramatta or Canterbury.
BRING IT ON
A huge individual battle will unfold at Toyota Stadium this Saturday night - with NSW State of Origin ramifications.
Incumbent Blues five-eighth Jamie Soward will go head-to-head with aspiring Blues number six and Cronulla gun Todd Carney. James Maloney is also being discussed but the winner of Soward v Carney may overtake the Warriors pivot.
MYSTERY MAN
Where is Nathan Merritt? Well, here is the answer. Merritt has had fresh MRI scans on his injured toe with the results expected today. When he returns to rugby league still remains a mystery.
"It is taking longer to get right than we first thought," said Souths chief executive Shane Richardson. "Any foot injury injury is difficult to predict. You don't know until you put weight on it. I honestly don't know (when he will return).
"Everyone is asking the same question. We will take it slowly to make sure we get it right."
THE MENACE
The NRL's biggest pest will play his 150th first grade game against Souths on Friday night. Canterbury skipper Michael Ennis will pass the milestone after debuting for Newcastle way back in 2003.
Ennis texted me yesterday saying: "It's a very special occasion - it would be nice to come with a win."
Some love Ennis, some loathe him but Bulldog's Bite has always been a big fan of the feisty little hooker.
BEST BET
I reckon Wests Tigers represent good value at $2.35 over Brisbane on Friday night at Allianz Stadium.
The Tigers simply have to win - for their fans and to quiet down a ravenous media. Robbie Farah is back too.
Brisbane has been going about their business quietly and efficiently but the Tigers will be ready and pumped for the match - and they are tired of being bagged.
