Terrible news. Mark would be the toughest player I ever had the pleasure of watching live. Never took a backwards step and real hero of mine as a young kid stood on the terrace at old Craven Park. Will be a tough fight ahead for him. Diagnosed Alzheimer’s but could just as easily be CTE given his age as very hard to differentiate until post mortem.

Finished the game and then went out and had a few beers after fracturing his eye socket and cheekbone in a brawl. Those were the days.
