We will miss them both. I’m a fan of Deine Mariner - but I’m not sure that he will make the same metres out of our end that Herbie managed. Probably another 12-18months off being at Herbie’s level. But rumour has it we will move Cobbo to centre and bring Scott Minto out of retirement.

We won’t find a like-for-like to replace Flegler either. But I’m a big fan of Xavier Willison and keen to see how he goes.

I hope so, and I feel the same though.

A lot of our fans are worried about how we struggled after 2015 but I feel that this group is different. They are all really good mates. The vibes were off with our 2015 squad - too many cliques and Milford and Hunt barely spoke to each other outside of training. It seemed that Josh Mcquire was barely liked. The disconnect between the young and old was so clear.

I didn’t think that this current squad would recover from the mental demons of this loss. Said it straight after 23 and I’ve been saying it for 2 years. It won’t be the last time that I’m wrong. It probably helped that Reynolds got injured and to a lesser extent Hunt as well.
