Ramsey is the type that will never let us down when it counts. I see a lot of posts saying he is not yet ready for NRL, he needs more kilos, and it would be unfair to pick him. At this point if I were coach the only person I’d be asking if they thought they were ready would be Cody Ramsey. If he thinks he’s ready then he is ready, not sure if he has said anything on it. He has the speed, the skillset and the character we really crave, and he bleeds red V.

i certainly don’t suggest he would turn the ship around single handedly but just how long can we endure the roll call of failed wingers and centres we have already tolerated this season, they are a real weak spot in our line up, who would deny this? Ramsey could also play fb and catch the pressure bombs Gutho has been dropping over the past 3 weeks, Gutho is needed at 6 where one of our other weak spots is. The time is approaching when it will already be too late in 2025 to salvage something.

If young Couchman is out, who replaces him?

Cake
RFM
Sele
Molo
Fafita
Latu
Liu

Lawrie - didn't play yesterday, so obvious that's who they're going to go with. The others are either debutants or just returning from injury or are just not 1st material (not suggesting Cake is either). However, we are up against the formidable Broncos pack which includes Haas, who is arguably the best prop in the game, so experience will prevail over exuberance is how I'm seeing it.

Sloan has burnt my patience, and it's time to give Lawson a run.

I’ll be following the next month or so’s worth of games through the forum here - I’ve given up letting these guys ruin my weekends for a while so won’t be watching.
So watch them come out and have a blinder this weekend while I’m spending my time doing more constructive things with my time.
So I can fearlessly make the following predictions
Val Holmes 6 from 6 from the sideline.
Blake Lawrie 200 metres, 3 try assists and to look like he’s running faster then 0.5 speed.
KF masterclass and 11 field goals.
Tyrell Sloan to injure 4 Broncos forwards with his power tackling technique.
Leilua zero errors.
Clint Gutherson to pull out a captains challenge every set of six and win all of them.
Referee to call 6 again every time we get the ball.
Jadyn Sua to drop the ball backwards in the act of scoring a try, watch Selwyn Cobbo run off down the field with the ball, only to turn around to chase him, catch him at the other end of the field, steal the ball off him and then beat 13 Broncos defenders as he marches the ball back down the other end of the field to score the weirdest NRL try in history.
Dragons 47-0.

I know sfa about sports science, why dont you explain? I do remember when the lad was very ill many experts (probably sports scientists actually) were adamant he would never play football again, ever. However he proved that wrong and is now going well in the level below NRL. He wouldn’t be the smallest player to have played in the NRL, he is suited to either wing or fb so limited engagements in defence would be required, he would have to bring the ball back which is the biggest concern I guess. i stand by it, ask the kid himself, if he thinks he can do it, he can do it. We could sure do with him.

Sele went well in the NSW Cup. Played long minutes

It’s been explained as recently as just a few days ago on this very forum. Search it if you’re interested. And a few months back Cody was interviewed and was honest about the barriers in front of him to play NRL in the near future. It’s not as simple as “he’s going great in NSW cup”.

We lost three stats last week
1. conversions - Val is too good to not improve
2. Kick meters - Surely we have a better long kicking options in our own half? - Val??
3. Errors - last week we had 15 errors to Warriors 8

Fix the frigging errors - every bloody game - then we have more than a chance against the Broncos!

Pity Bunt isn't playing!

Ha ha yeah but no seriously you don’t. It’s called “watching a never ending sh$t show since 2012 and getting very jaded syndrome”. I don’t know how the Tigers fans did it for so long. Kudos to those brave souls.
No, I've been taking the same thing. It's just that I'm still in a bad place and not able to see the funny side of the situation.

We're dumb if we pick Sele due to injury history & lack of match fitness. Play RFM or Lawrie, or better yet another youngster. Seriously, I think a younger player will have the same or more impact than an RFM, Lawrie or Sele. The added bonus is they get 1st grade experience. Sloan isn't a winger, please end this dumb charade & replace him with Lawson.

Haas could run for 1000m which is scary considering our shit line speed & shit ability to defend PCMs.

Anyway, Dragons by 20.

This year reminiscent to 2023 where Griffin coached dragons lost I think 5 or 6 by less than 6 points then got flogged and Griffin was history, maybe a flogging at the hands of the Broncos this week will see Flanagan gone
I think that was Griffins 3rd year at dragons, Flanno is only in his second year isn’t he?
If he fails this year then by round 10 next year he’s 3W 6L then yeah, a sacking would be on the table.
To say he may be sacked as early as this weekend is just laughable, I presume you were having a laugh though.

Very worried about going up against a fired up broncos pack after a few losses(Haas, Carrigan) and without by far our best forward this year in Toby. Might be a stretch due to inexperience but starting big Loko could be the only move to attempt to match the broncos physicality. Loko looked like our strongest and most damaging forward despite being game 1 which shows where we are with our props at the moment. Egan and stewart have been fantastic in the back row though.

I read an article saying Ezra Mamm was placed on report for an high tackle. I haven't seen it but if he's unsuccessful at the judiciary he won't be allowed to play that being said even it's an illegal tackle worthy of 7 weeks he will get off Scott free and play against us as the NRL wouldn't want to upset their darlings.
You could puy your life savings on a bet that Mamm was always going to have his first outing in 1st grade at Suncorp....there's no way they were ever going to expose him to a hostile Sydney environment first up .....the Hunt injury timing worked out beautifully for them tbh

So I would assume if Kyle was going to be dropped we would have probably heard the rumblings by now...have been at work but I haven't heard anything. This is not reflecting well on the man in charge.

For Mary it was Josh McCrone
For Hook it was McCullough
For Flan it is clearly McKyle

Stubborn, and short-sighted.

So many people are so quick to defend the halves because the forwards were not up to scratch but in this game the forwards did step it up and still, I hate to say it, Kyle looked lost and once again ineffective.

I would bring Nick T in for moses Suli. Suli looks like he has been playing injured since that Rabbitohs game where he did his ribs. I was shocked he played the week after, i have cracked ribs before and they took 6-8 weeks to heal. Similar to what happened to Lawrie last year he is playing at about 60-70% capacity and it shows, particulary his efforts off the ball.
