Just bought my tickets to the Game on Saturday night, looks like there will be another small crowd their again this year with my PAX number only 18067...

I'm not even a supporter of either team and from the Gold Coast yet i am still going to the game, why the poor following by Brisbane league supporters? If this was a lions game i could see it being a sell out already.

The AFL's first final in Brisbane last year got about the same crowd (31,000 ) as the Brisbane & Melbourne NRL final played at Suncorp over the same weekend.

The Brisbane Lions' AFL team last year was going for an unprecedented 4th AFL title. They were supposed to be the best AFL team ever assembled. The current Brisbane NRL team are heading for 6 losses in a row.

Anyway I noted in yesterday's paper that the Brisbane AFL team has seven players over 30 in their squad. Seems as though their golden era has ended.

That, and also because the salary cap exemptions they received (an extra 10% at one stage) allowed them to have an exceptionally strong team. Those exemptions have been gradually scaled down and will eventually be removed.

Still, winning or not. With only 1 league team in all of SE Queensland a finals game should be a full house. The Broncos should be averaging over 40K for a season.

From what i can tell the oposition supporters make up the bulk of supporters at big games. Dragons this year, dogs in 04 seemed to turn up in bigger numbers then the ponies fans.

Thats just becuase they all get dressed up for it becuase they only get to see there team once every year or two,, We average the biggest crowds in the nrl and so we should! over 30k

Its only mid week wait till saturday night i'm sure the ground will be close to sold out!

Hopefully (& I would expect) a decent walk up on the night.

They have been getting some pretty large crowds this year? Surely you wouldn't expect that to change now.

You were saying you were the 18,000th or so person to buy a ticket? On Wednesday, that's fairly decent early sales, still two and a half working days to go for pre-sales, plus the walk up on Saturday night.

You would expect 35 minimum.

Will any of the games this week be a sell-out??? Especially as the NRL is supposed to be going "gang busters".

You would expect the Dragons and Eels games will.

The Tigers & Broncos games should have massive crowds, although hard to see the Tigers game selling out due to their opposition.

they wont get 80k to the tigers game, but should get 40-50k
They wont get 52k to the broncos game, should get 40k
stg will be sold out with 18-20k (whatever the capacity is)
eels will be sold out with 21k

Tigers game was PAX 17959 at 10 this morning. I expect a decent crowd but not a massive crowd.
As for the Broncs they should pull alot of people with walk up

Id say due the stadium as opposed to the opposition.....as good as league is going, selling out 80,000 at telstra for the first week of finals is a few years off.....

I would expect around the 30,000 mark against the cowbaoys, hopefully the Tigers fans who have done so well this year wont be put off by 2 losses on the trot. Being there first finals, I doubt it.

Parra and Saints games are played at small venues so will sell out (Is Parra stadium ever going back towards 30,000??).

Bris...have had great crowds but would have been better had they played the cowboys!

Fitzy has mentioned that they are in the process of lobbying the government to increase the size of the stands at either end of the ground.

They wont get in quick, they are supporters in name only when it comes to getting to the game u only have to have a look at attendence records for them this year.

Pathetic.
