brookvale upgrade - NOT ENOUGH

Too little, loo late is what i perceive is the aptness in naming the brookvale oval upgrade.

Aparently they want to build a tiny little stand up the back of the hill there.

so help them god

10 million is no where near enough.

the stadium is a hole, and it requires in excess of 60 million to fix up.

this will not help manly,

not one little bit. add whatever reason you like to prove me wrong, but at the end of the day, manly are no better off playing there.

i say if the money doesnt come through in the next couple of years, bite the bullet and play down the road...sfs or bust

Ok, so how long do you think it will be before Manly are forced to leave Brookvale (even if they do get crowds of 15-20,000)?

So, what about if they relocate to Gosford? I thought there was talks of moving there last year. Central Coast Eagles? LOL! I guess that wouldn't go down to well with the locals there, considering everything that happened with the Northern Eagles.

I don't see why they need to upgrade the capacity at all, the only time it would really be needed is for semis. What they really need to do is improve the Jane Try grandstand and improve the rest of the ground. And it isn't enough really, but at the end of the day it's a sports ground.

Doesn't Max and co. have enough money to be able to contribute to a new stadium there?

I would hope max could build them something, and since he owns the team, and loves it so much, it would fit in nicely with the assets of the club, and his. he is manly now as much as anything.

hopefully he could help out.

i dont really want manly to go to gosford.

i beleive manly to be a key rl team in sydney. that is, if any teams are to get the chop/move/merge, then manly should be protected being a key team, for the north east of sydney. Plus their name, they are synonymous with league, and their unique history. As such they should remain, and for more reasons ofcourse too numerous....i could not say the same for instance for the sharks or sydney city.

gosford needs a new team, from scratch.

if i work at maccas, so what

i am currently studying for uni, and am on a career path that will hopefully see me commanding high-level salary's by the later part of my career.

i am talking...lol at you....7 digit sums.

you can count that up if you like....put a 1 and then 7 zero's.

big number.

enough smugness? its not smugness. fact. see you there, shall I?

Yeah right.

So if you think 10 mil is ok for a team that should be critical to leagues success in sydney for a dodge old stadium, then good for you.

unless they are doing this is stages, and by the looks of the plans floating around, they aint, then its a waste imho.

move down the road to sfs

Good!! f**k off you silvertail scum and let Norths take your spot in the NRL. Or get Uncle Max to open his fat wallet instead of spending it all on DeeWhy and Collaroy.

How about you f*** off you inbred piece of s**t.

Why should Max Delmege upgrade a council owned facility out of his own pocket. How rich do you think the guy is, you actually want him to open up his wallet and spend $50 million on a new stadium?

We now have $10 million and hopefully the federal government will match that. It might not build us a new stadium but it will upgrade the place and we can continue to seek funds further on down the track to continue the process.

You may think $6 million is nothing, but for the Northern Beaches who generally receive next to nothing from the state governent, this is a big win.

Wow Mark I love it when people talk up their own career prospects and how much they're going to get paid. You must have a lot of friends

I thought Manly were still waiting for Federal funding, isn't the development worth $20mill/

Yep, the Council funds were conditional upon Govs input. Now that both Council & state gov is onboard it makes it dificult for the Fed to deny. $20m or upwards.
