Steve Folkes is the best available coach who is not currently in charge of a club. I'm surprised someone like the Knights didnt pick him up after Smith left.
My tip - Steve Folkes to the Cowboys.

As for Brownie - I just don't think his face is big enough to be a first grade coach.

Saints next coach , if Bennett stands down , should be Price and most likely will be , until youve talked to him and understand his credentials and how highly backed he is by Bennett you probably wont know how good this man is going to be.

One less then Joel Clinton.

Who would you prefer?

hey. Burgess is a fantastic player. But he's only one player.

Its not WHO you prefer, its WHAT you prefer.

I prefer premierships.

I'm happy for you to have Sam Burgess.

And I'm certain any other player who has won a comp and is not as good a player as Sam would be happy with their lot in life. Is Sam Burgess better than ET? Is he better than Wally Lewis? Is he better than Wayne Pearce? Benny Elias? Steve Roach? Do you reckon those types would swap all they have for a premiership?

Yes. They would. I can guarantee you Joel Clinton, Buckets O'Neill, Daniel Fitzhenry,Shane Elford & my boy Jarrod Saffy don't give a flying f**k how good Sam is. When it all comes down to the bottom line, only one thing counts - winning the comp.

You were the one saying soward is better then Marshall cause saints beat the tigers this year, I was just saying your theory is flawed.

Back to back premierships just don't happen. Admittedly, if the Dragons were to win again this year he'd have a difficult choice to choose between going for a 3peat or going for the achievement of premierships with 3 clubs. But I think the massive payrise he'd get with us would be the deciding factor to tip him over the line.

No doubt back to back premierships are a very difficult assignment but should Saints achieve it, I think it would be a strong inducement for Wayne Bennett to stay and have a crack at 3 in a row.

I think the exposure in Sydney would actually play against Souths chances of signing Bennett... the relative anonimity Woollongong affords Bennett, means that he can go about his business of coaching without too much of the sideshow that will definitely follow him at a Russell Crowe led Souths.
Can you really see Wayne Bennett being comfortable appearing in an Oprah TV special? I think not.
