No. We are not in the same boat.

I would never say "f**k the st George dragons".

Wouldn't you have responded similarly to me if I did?

I wouldnt of responded at all to be honest thats better then attacking someone if anything thats your opinion and thats your right.

If anyone is interested The Steelers annual report annual report can be found at the following link:
http://steelers.com.au/Steelers Annual Report 2015.pdf

Have look at the St George reps on the board, what a joke.
Have a look at Player life members Mary, Hornby and Dean Young.
Have a look at the influence the Gordon family have.
Have a look at the loan to WIN.
Have a look at the business done with a director.

I cant understand how some people cant see that they need to question this and don't accept the spin about how its the answer. There are things that need to be clarified before this is supported.

Ok i apologize for saying that its pure frustration at the whole club to tell you the truth im just pointing the finger which i shouldn't so im sorry.

That's gracious of you Harry.

And I completely understand your frustration at the club. Particularly in light of the announcements made yesterday.

Let's hope there's some good things coming for all dragons fans.

What is a joke? I'm confused what you are even getting at here? That members of the Steelers board are also members of the joint venture's board? If you looked at St George's financials you would see the same. That there are no St George Dragons board members? Uh yeah maybe because they are 2 completely separate entities.

Have a look at Player life members Mary, Hornby and Dean Young.

Yes and? What problem do you have with those players being life members? What does this have to do with your questions over Bruce Gordon?

Have a look at the influence the Gordon family have.

What a shock. A family that have historically been strong backers of rugby league in the Illawarra are noted for their efforts.

Have a look at the loan to WIN.

You really don't know anything about the club do you? That loan is literally just the 25% share he owns in the joint venture. The Steelers never have to pay it back unless they want to buy that share back, or the club ceases to exist.

Have a look at the business done with a director.

This is literally the worst thing you brought up, and even then, as an accountant, I see no real issue with it. It's just a retainer, so there is no issue with it not being passed on. You just have to look at 2014's figure to see what it would cost when they are taking out ads.

Considering KPMG are auditing it, you can be sure they are scrutinising those transactions to ensure they are all above board.

I cant understand how some people cant see that they need to question this and don't accept the spin about how its the answer. There are things that need to be clarified before this is supported.

Not a single thing you brought up needs to be clarified. It's all just anti-Illawarra bullshit.

We have Illawarra personalities as the St George reps on the Illawarra board.

Yes and? What problem do you have with those players being life members? What does this have to do with your questions over Bruce Gordon?

The three coaches of first grade, which many people believe should be removed, are all player life members of Illawarra.

What a shock. A family that have historically been strong backers of rugby league in the Illawarra are noted for their efforts.

We are talking about whether Bruce Gordon (WIN) takeover will bring change. The point being the Gordon family have had plenty of influence already and look where we are.

You really don't know anything about the club do you? That loan is literally just the 25% share he owns in the joint venture. The Steelers never have to pay it back unless they want to buy that share back, or the club ceases to exist.

Can't comment on the conditions of the loan as I haven't seen the loan agreement. The point is St George Leagues club has money, Illawarra Leagues club is where the liability sits with the man/group that want to takeover everything including what looks like the solvent part.

This is literally the worst thing you brought up, and even then, as an accountant, I see no real issue with it. It's just a retainer, so there is no issue with it not being passed on. You just have to look at 2014's figure to see what it would cost when they are taking out ads.

Quick answer, conflict of interest. Again, one of the boys benefitting from the club. Is it all arms length, doesn't matter as far as how it looks. As an accountant you know this is why it had to be disclosed in the notes.

Considering KPMG are auditing it, you can be sure they are scrutinising those transactions to ensure they are all above board.

As an accountant I'm sure you remember Arthur Anderson and their auditing demise. We wont get into the details here of an auditors duties but you know they accept evidence unless there is a reason to doubt it, and do not investigate it like the police or a court.

Not a single thing you brought up needs to be clarified. It's all just anti-Illawarra bullshit.

You're right nothing to worry about.
The reason it is to do with Illawarra is because we are talking about Bruce Gordon and the Illawarra connection.
What it does show is that there are a lot of relationships and arrangements within the clubs that may or may not be desirable when looking at a take over. Does it look to me that the cronyism, nepotism, self interest is limited to Illawarra, no. I think it is throughout both clubs and the Joint Venture. That's why I'm nervous about the take over.

The negotiations with Gordon have been going on for a very long time. Given that Doust has received a contract extension, Mary and his coaching staff have been told they have the gig for 2017, Millwood will remain the in charge of pathways and recruitment ........... Surely there can be no important condition left to discuss.

Dragons deal in danger

WIN Television’s proposed takeover of the Dragons is in danger of collapsing.

RLW has heard that a funding dispute is jeopardising the NRL’s hopes of selling the Dragons off to billionaire businessman Bruce Gordon.

The NRL expected Gordon to put up $4million to buy the joint venture and take the struggling club off the NRL’s hands.

But sources have told RLW that Gordon is planning to give the Dragons $4million worth of free advertising on his WIN television network in Wollongong – a proposal that is unacceptable to both the club and the NRL.

The developments are a major blow to the Dragons, who were looking forward to having a more lavish budget under Gordon’s control.

The club’s finances are currently managed by the NRL and the Dragons can spend little without the approval of head office as a result.

Bruce doesn't sound too interested... he prob wants us to be at the brink of folding so he can have things the way he wants...

Probably doesn't want to invest so much money into an investment that will return so little. $4 million dollars to repay a debt he never even accrued is dumb business by anyone's standards, especially for an investment that will continue to haemorrhage money.

What a mess the club is in , how can Doust and the Board still run the joint even a take over is becoming to hard . I dont like what I am seeing and I know people keep saying the the once great St George will keep being no matter what . Different generation . Now that Cronulla have won a maiden Premiership and seem to be on the rise if we cant compete with all aspects not just on the field , our umbilical cord will be cut and we will die off . Remember we are no longer just St George we are St George Illawarra so first stage gone . So really the 11 straight Grand Final wins are not associated with St George Illawarra so what I am trying to say is that history wont save us .
