Thank you for making my point TE.

What you are saying right there is let me have my opinion, but don't challenge it

In any case.....I can only remember one or two instances where I have taken issue with something you have said.

no i didn't reiterate your point

i'm sick of not being allowed to make a point about BS without people attacking me personally, all while saying that I have a "personal" issue with BS or i am making personal statements against him when i am not???

anyway - over it

Whilst i have an opinion on this subject, and have expressed it previously, i am completely over this type of topic. Lets leave it till the end of the year, and then spend the whole summer debating whats going to happen next year.

He will not be going anywhere in the next 2 weeks, and next year, who knows, he might not even be the head coach.

my problem with the anti-Smiths is that their anti-ness overrides the "support" for the team they claim they have. They might indeed be true Parra supporters at heart, but their major concern is being Anti-Smith. You don't see them coming up to games, only after games when we lose.

You know what these people should do? Wake up to themselves. They call themselves realists, but true reality contains one little fact they seem to have missed - that what you and me do here, or anywhere else for that matter, is not going to change the Coaching at Parramatta. I don't mean to be rude here, but I'd rather be honest than nice. The little hissyfits that people have here achieve..................what, exactly? Nothing? So why bother ranting and raving and cussing and calling for blood when its all, ultimately, useless. I know the things in my life that I can and can't influence, and so know where it's most efficient to place my efforts, and less futile to put my worries. Employment at Parramatta is not something that I can influence, so I'm not gonna cry because I don't like it.

Have your opinions by all means, and the two-way shots are always fun to read and take part in, but atm there are a few people being a bit stupid over something that neither of them have any control over. Did I babble on too much?

***Ahem*** :? i am extremely anti-smith and i go to as many games as you HJ ;-) ;-) however i am anti-smith as a result of going to games, talking to players, and hearing what they think of him. I cannot be hypocritical and bitch about him when im with them and be super nice to him when they aren't around.
However theres always an exception to the rule. That must be where i fall in.

I understand that hating him will not change anything and hence my reluctancy to participate in anti-smith rallies. im not in this for winning, i just wanna have a good time. bring on the wooden spoon ;-)

I thought this thread was going to be about Ben Smith.
and i'd just like to say BS does = legend, Ben Smith is one of the nicest blokes ive met ;-) :D

This is a stupid thread and totally uncalled for under the current situation. Some people here just like to stir trouble and have a go at other users for no reason at all. Get over it.

TE,

I am amazed at how many times I have read on this board over the past three years that people "aren't supporting our club" because we have voiced our opinions on our lack of success, and thought that our coaching staff may be responsible.

It is an opinion, and have they ever stopped to think that it is highly possible that it might be the case?

I'm still unaware of where I attacked you personally. f**k me you cry when someone says something you said isn't right, and take it as a personal attack. Sorry mate, I didn't realise you were wearing a skirt (shite- now i've done it haven't I    )

Suity, you know what makes a person a REAL parra supporter? According to HJ: the following:

You need to embrace mediocrity. Losing to Saints reserves is fine, as long as you are pissed.

You need to shun anything that would make the team better. Wags needs to be 5/8, that way, when you stalk him after the game, you can discuss his 5/8 attacking game in full while you are being dragged away by security.

You need to swear your life's allegiance to Brian SMith. Seeing him suck $400k per annum out of our club is better than seeing us win comps under a different coach. (An unmentioned law is that your devotion to Smith must be so strong that when Smith leaves, you will follow, because he is your saviour, and his sucess is obviously more important that Parra's.)

Oh, and other sundry means of devotion must be employed. Cross dressing is essential. It also helps if you live under a bridge because you lost your life savings backing another failed Brian Smith game plan!

Another dose of Lithium, please, Nurse Ratchett!

i wouldn't actually know about the babbling question - i read your post like a bad book, started with the first couple of lines and then skipped to the end and read the last line............

Suity,

i hear what your saying and i'm picking up what your putting down - believe me, just a pity a few more can't - but thats up to them, cause i'm all about letting people have their own opinions

Misty,

well said again

Jess Eel,

well said also, without taking sides you summed up your feelings and sentiments very succinnctly, well done

William,

again with the personal claims about me, skirt, crying, well done mate your doing better with thos well informed and constructive comments and comebacks, good luck with all that - and HJ is the only skirt wearer that i know of among the blokes on here

HJ,

ahhh, don't worry, i couldn't be bothered you have your God and hallow be thy name (BS)

Eels Dude,

this is not an uncalled for and stupid thread - it is more a thread responding to an issue William made with comments i made in another thread and also about me making a point that i am not going to relent on my opinions about BS because we have won a couple of games (now that we have decent halves?????)

Can i also point out some quite valid fact about BS from the official Parreels site??

Jack Gibson Coaches Awards from 1998 onwards (all years under the BS reign)

1998 - Nathan Cayless
1999 - David Kidwell
2000 - Brett Hodgson
2001 - Jamie Lyon
2002 - Luke Burt
2003 - John Morris

well......50% of those former favourites (and we are all mostly aware of BS's ablility to play favourites with players) and players that BS has publicly voted as class performers are now goooooooonnnnnnnneeeeee!!!

Lyon - of his own accord due to problems with BS and twisetd loyalites

Hodgson - told he was no longer required or top priority and to look elsewhere

Kidwell - called into BS's office and told he was no longer needed and no longer had what it takes (well at least he has a NRL premiership ring or medal - something BS doesn't after 20 years of trying)

all of those depatures are reported and documented fact - although not so much on Lyon as no one really knows (maybe even Jamie doesn't anymore)

and now we can add Adam Dykes, David Vaealiki, Christ Thorman and Chris Armit as other reasonable favourites that have left on their own accord, sought a release or have been brushed

my point - BS plays favourites and flip flops on his idea of talent and class like no other coach i have ever known

and now what of the future of Micahel Witt and even possibly John Morris - there fates are very much up in the air if you ask me?????
