Bulldogs are grubs?

Hasler was pretty reasoned. Sure he was to a biased bulldog fan.
Yes because as a Souths fan I can see you're just so totally impartial about this
The constant harassment and disrespect of the refs would certainly rival soccer.
I have a much bigger problem with the dismissive, childish attitude of Jarryd Hayne addressing the referees. Ennis at least provides some form of entertainment and intelligence.

Only a Dogs fan would think that dropping the f-bomb 5 times and a "bullshit" on live TV is an example of intelligence.

I think it is and I'm not a Dogs fan. I think the way Ennis conducts himself on the field is very clever. He's clearly a smart dude. He not only flusters the opposition, but he goes out of his way to unsettle referees with his tactics. Blowing up at the referees and putting them on the spot, making them doubt the validity of their decisions is a major aspect of that.

As far as that side of the game goes, he's a couple of classes above any captain Souths could put forward.

That's not to say he isn't a whinging dickhead

Masoe eats babies has exactly nailed what I was trying to say.

Add to that he provides entertainment and gets people talking. I love it, good luck to Cronulla next year.

You need some grubs or merkins to win the comp. Look through the premiership winners and they all seem to have a couple.

Ennis is a genius when it comes to unsettling people. And very few people play their best when they have their feathers ruffled.

Haha what in the world is this sh*t? How would more players being like Ennis make us like soccer?

Diving, chasing referees and gobbling off at them. Imagine every team had 5 Ennis characters in the side, it would be farcical like soccer is.

Minichiello and Robinson treat the referees with respect; I'm not so sure that your idiotic front rower, Waerea-Hargreaves treats the refs with respect though, especially after he got sin binned for swearing at the referee against the Knights. The roosters have had discipline problems for years and I think it all stems from Waerea-Hargreaves. He is their pack leader and I think he sets the tone when it comes to aggression, line speed in defence, the physical side of things etc. Unfortunately, JWH can't control himself on the football field and that is part of the reason why you guys never win penalty counts. The funny thing is the roosters have virtually done nothing to address their poor disciplinary record; it likes they don't even care
!

We have been on the wrong end of the vast majority of penalty counts for 15 years, JWH is 25 years old so it must be his fault.

Issac Luke using the "Tate defence" in getting his dangerous contact charge dismissed. Apparently he was kicking Ennis in the face out of necessity (despite the fact he did so after Ennis let go of him) as he, yes....

feared for his life.

Well some very interesting posts in this thread. Some very funny, some absolutely ludicrous and some good comments.
Ennis does grubby things. He has always done that through the numerous clubs he has played for, no one is denying how he plays the game. it is not pretty, it annoys the hell out of opposition players and fans, with those same people wishing someone would just belt the prick once and for all and that is exactly what he is trying to do.
FFS even the refs admitted it the other night and that leads to the bottom line.

If we have stronger referees controlling the games, Ennis' style of play would be knocked on the head. A few penalties for his niggling tactics, a few penalties for his disrespectful blowing up of referee decisions and it would all cease as even Hasler would have to curtail his captain from continuing in that manner.

Cameron Smith has been manipulating the referees for years but he does it the smart way, virtually non obtrusive yet he gets the same results, delaying play for the attacking sides, making suggestions to the refs in subtle ways etc... hats off to him as it has certainly helped the Storm cause this year. Funny enough when one referee, Ashley Klein, caned them in the penalties one week, he got dropped after Bellyache whined about his performance. Strangely, Klein is my least preferred referee, he is hopeless and he did make a few blunders in the Storm game....

No the key to combatting Ennis control of the game is strong referees. Jarryd Hayne just simply shows the referees no respect whatsoever and needs a lesson in diplomacy in handling referees.

I particularly don't like watching Ennis (and Hayne) with the way they treat the officialdom. Young kids watching the game take in a lot more than just the aspects of the game, the way the players act on the field is not lost on their inquisitive minds. No it's not a good look but the answer is simple.

Luke's grubby act a few years ago when playing for NZ was deplorable. I was embarrassed by what he did, however, I do believe he has certainly improved in this aspect of his game and is now one of the top number 9s in the game and wouldn't swap him for anyone. He is so pivotal to Souths' game, much more important than Reynolds etc.

To me Josh Reynolds is a grub and matches the definition. I think he's the most over-rated player in the game. I hope he doesn't continue in this vain but pulls his head in and concentrates on improving aspects in his game and curbing his impulsive behaviour.
